S3 w/ Verizon to lose Unl Data?

It is simply stated in the last update on front page of Phandroid that we will lose our unlimited data plan if we upgrade to this phone. I was reading mixed comments and have read other things from other people saying that losing unlimited data may not be the case yet.

Maybe I should call Verizon Wireless today to make sure?

But if any one of you already know the answer to this, please let me hear it, because if I am going to risk losing my unlimited data plan I'll just upgrade to the Nexus.

Right now nobody outside of VZ corporate knows that for sure. Just depends on when it's released compared to when they officially announced the end of unlimited data.

I'd say zero chance you lose it, Verizon doesn't even know the pricing of their new plans and said they would announce it, which they have not done. I am guessing this comes out end of June, so that is why I say no chance.

Here comes what maybe is the dumb question of the day, but even if the changes went into effect prior to the release of this phone...would people like myself who are buying the S3 outright be safe? Yes, I know, ask Verizon :rolleyes:

droid-life talked to verizon pr and confirmed that all pre-orders can retain unlimited data, if you're eligible for it. nothing stated ab waiting for release date.

This is great news and where can we preorder?

I imagine the price of razr maxx will drop significantly, which will be a tough call. Get the razr maxx on the super cheap or grab the s3?

This is amazing man! I wasn't able to call Verizon, my day was a lot more busier than I anticipated. Best believe I will be pre ordering!

I just proved it. I pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy S III on verizonwireless.com. It will be shipped by July 9.

I bought the 32GB White for $249.99 + $30 upgrade fee, using my eligible upgrade discount on my Fascinate. I can keep my unlimited data plan. Nothing is changed.
