I had the VZW Gnex from Day 1. Within the 1st 3 weeks I had 3 devices (the 1st 2 were total duds and the touch screen died on the 2nd one). The third one lasted 5 months and had no real issues until a few weeks ago when the radios died. I could not connect to the mobile network and could not make or receive calls or texts. I could only use data on wifi. VZW sent me a replacement and a new sim card. I have had this 4th device for 1 1/2 weeks and today the audio blew on the earpiece. I can only use the phone in speaker mode and that cuts in and out and no one can really hear me. So now they are sending me a 5th phone. When do I call it quits and switch to a different phone?? Amazes me how some have no issues and others have no luck with this phone!

I think you should call it quits. I know it means little but I would have called it quits on the 3rd. Like the lemon law thingy. Check out the razr maxx or the sgs3
My 3rd device worked well so I wanted to give it another shot and hoped for a new one that wasn't another dud.

Just makes no sense why some users have perfect phones and others don't.

Get an unlocked GSM Nexus and move to T Mobile's prepaid plan.

I think after 3 its time to give up. I'm on my third nexus and now trying to decide what to replace it with. It won't be another nexus. If the earpiece speaker wouldn't have blown on #1 I think it would have been a great phone. All the issues with the last 2 are just too much to handle.

The sgs3 looks great but unfortunately I've lost all faith in Samsung. And it seems like the Maxx HD may be turning into the Bionic. I can last a while longer with the nexus but I get more disgusted with it every day. It could have been a perfect phone but now I just want to throw it against the wall.

After going through 4 new ones (2 for me and the wife each), I decided to call it quits. After 6 months with Nexus, I've found the Razr Maxx to be a great device for my needs.

I miss ICS, the Nexus screen and feel and how smooth the device ran. It's the best running device I've ever had. But, I think it really fell short with battery life, camera, and volume. These are imperfections that can be overlooked/fixed by most, but I couldn't stay around when the phones kept suffering from consistent signal problems. I don't care how amazing a device looks or feels...if I can't depend on it to make phone calls and get data, it's not worth it.

I really hate how the whole Verizon Galaxy Nexus thing went down. I love vanilla Android. It seems that Samsung skimped in too many ways with it being a flagship phone. The way Verizon has delayed the updates basically defeats the purpose of it being a Nexus. And, there appears to be a big quality control problem with all the discrepency between one device to the next. After my experience, its frustrating to see others say they've never experienced any problems.

But, I think most of it comes down to the user, their expectations and tolerance of issues. No phone is perfect and people react differently when problems occur. I think most would agree that the radios are weak and that's still the most important aspect of any phone. I really wanted this phone to need a massive success because it could've led to manufacturers making less skinned Android phones and ICS is such an awesome leap for Android.
