I'm with you, I have a Mac but still not sure about the iphone yet, I do know for sure my next phone will not be a HTC, unless I get a great deal from Rogers (also thinking about getting rid of them too)..

In my opinion the evo 3d is dead, it was a good try but to not support a "flagship" phone with the first big update after its release is ******ed.. I've tested a few ICS over at XDA, they work great and fast (with camera), theres no reason for us not to have ICS on our phones right now.

Well, looks like Samsung just announced that the US CDMA version of the Galaxy III will not have the quad-core processor in it, just like how our version of the HTC ONE X is not having the quad-core processor either...thats just great, so neither of these phones will really be that much of a leap forward from the 3D...so if Apple actually makes the first leap forward with quad-cores(which they said they are)...looks like I'll be a sheep...

You can always wait until next year to upgrade. I'm sure they will quad-core LTE phones next year. I'm starting to think about waiting. I don't think I can go to the IPhone, unless they have an LTE IPhone. Even then I would have to really think about it.

I'll be honest I don't mind not having the quad core, the dev wont or aren't utilizing it in the tablets that have it anyway, a quick duel core with with better camera ( the one x is on the right track) and (cross my fingers) more efficient battery consumption would be nice.. The main thing that bugs me with HTC is they rolled out the Evo 3D big it up then put it in a box and forgot about it, I truly think the evo "3d" is dead, it was a nice try, if they roll out ICS for the evo 3d and said sorry the 3d camera is a no go I'd be cool with that. I got this phone for the duel core and 1gb ram, if I remember right it was one the first if not the first, the 3D was a bonus I only used three times tops.. If they're going to kill the 3D just do it and move on.

Like I said I've tried some of the beta roms of ICS with and without sense4 on the evo 3d and they work great just no camera, give me my camera and video and I'm cool,.. 3D can burn for now for all I care, just my opinion.

Quad vs Dual Core: For those interested, you may find this article helpful:

What does this all mean exactly? Well without getting to much into details, this means that the Tegra 3 will be best for some tasks while the S4 will be better at other tasks and both have features that should lead to comparable battery life. In the end, one would be hard pressed to notice a performance difference between the two in either responsiveness or battery life.
Android Bugle: HTC One X in Canada has a Dual-Core rather than Quad Core, but does it really matter?

Actually the S4 is a rather large leap forward, and has been more than holding its own against the quad cores. Little surprise there, the Krait cores in the S4 are A15 class, while the quads are simply using 4 of the older A9s.

In addition, the quad HTC One X owners are complaining of various speed issues, and I blame the kernel.

Same old story for synchronously clocked multiple cores - when one core ought to be clocked faster, you can clock them for best performance and then waste power, clock them to the lowest common denominator and then starve processes needing speed, or try to split the difference.

The Qualcomms run asynchronously - each core runs at the clock speed that it needs. Put that together with the next generation of chip and yes, the S4 is winning.

Your mileage may vary, best luck with your choice. :)

I don't know if I buy into all the quad-core stuff yet. Battery life issues plus the fact that we don't really know how much in day-to-day use it's really even helping us. I don't know, need to wait and see how they perform. I only get 8 hours or so on my dual core. Quad core would probably be even less :(

On another note, I saw my friends Galaxy S2 (Epic 4G Touch) today... I love my Evo3D but I gotta admit, I was jealous. It was lighter than my Evo, the display colors were beautiful, & the camera was nice. My only complaint was I could tell the display was lower resolution than my Evo3D & I prefer Sense to Touchwiz. I have to say, I'd have an even harder time choosing between the two phones if I had to pick again. At the end of the day, I'm not sure I would walk home with an Evo3D. I'm sure it's just grass is always greener syndrome talking ;)

Then again, all I want right now is a Galaxy Note :D

Well I know I'll be one of the first time adapters for lte being in the Atlanta market. Still deciding if I want to jump shift, that EvoLTE might make me stay. Never had any real issues with Sprint. Even tho my data has always been iffy I've noticed im getting near 1mb down when before id be lucky to get 200kb down. I guess we will see what happens in May.

As far as the phone goes, I couldn't be happier with it. It's fast, I love the camera, the GPS is spot on (so long as my ROM hasn't gone wonky)...

As far as sprint... been falling out of love with their service as of late. Multiple times where I'll just drop service all together for 5 minutes and then have have it back afterward. I know it isnt my phone here, because friends of mine on sprint have the same problem at the same time.

The Evo 3D was a worthy upgrade from the 4G. It's like the ugly step child as far as support goes though. Stereoscopic display and dual cameras... what're you gonna do, heh. I'd still recommend it if you don't have the cash for the new phones. The first gen scorpion dual core CPU does its leg work a plenty in this one, I never have any hang or lag.

After playing with the new evo lte in the sprint store, and looking at the other options available from sprint, I am starting to like my evo3d more.

While the evo lte seems like a wonderful phone, it has one glaring problem - sucky Columbus Ohio 3g:mad: I couldn't even get youtube to work at all and the internet was extremely slow. Why would I upgrade to that?

To make matters worse, we have no idea when my city will get LTE. I am glad I have the evo3d, because I feel comfortable it will be able to compete with other phones in running apps for at least another year. If I had to buy wimax 4g phone, I would be locked into wimax for another two years.

This is the first time I feel that the newer phone is actually the lesser phone.

If you are rooted and interested I posted a link to the port of the LTE Rom to the 3D in the all things root section. I compared this Rom next to Ramzes 4G LTE and its the same except for hardware software is the same minus the Mic on the keyboard. 3D camera goes away but gets replaced with 1080p recording and the burst camera feature. Its all the same minus the hardware.

Sent from my poor man's EVO3D 4G LTE ROM hboot 1.50 S-ON (port thanks to Newts) using Tap-a-Talk.

I said yes but unhappy with sprint but I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy. Android mp3 player. And sadly even IT IS MORE FUNCTIONAL than my 3d or my 4g before it. It has better ui better wifi connectivity, and hell even like the Samsung keypad better.. My 3d drops calls everywhere, can't even use my Data at home, and will connect to wifi but still not have Internet capabilities. I'm sick of sprint telling me for the past 2 years 4g service will be in my area later this year yet never happens. I lived in Omaha Nebraska and thought maybe that had something to do with it but now I'm in Miami NO REASON I shouldn't have 4g let alone still have problems with the 3g network

FYI Miami is on the 4g map for sprint. Also if you are having these kind of issues it may be the phone and not the service, my job takes me through some spotty areas and when talking my phone hardly drops calls, my phone will go to roaming without issue as well.
