*Rezound ICS OTA is live Thread*

Of course, if you do sideload a leaked version using HBOOT, you will get this:

Just a heads up if you plan in bringing it to Verizon for their lousy customer service.

Yeah... saw this too... which is why I wonder if we really will get future OTA's. Kinda kicking myself cause I held out so long resisting the leak and then gave in only to have the OTA come out the very next day! Oh well... the phone is running great, so I can't be unhappy about that. I suppose I could get on the JB anger bandwagon... not!

You and I must have installed the same day, and I was thinking the same thing about future OTAs. But I don't care. By then, my warranty will be up, my contract will be up, and Verizon will have kicked ne off of my unlimited data plan. By then I hope to have a corporate phone and this one will be rooted and modded to the hilt.

What do people get with the OTA? On. 10 I just had a 0 for code (ie, not Verizon Wireless for source) so I though this was normal.

I believe you will see this (or something close to it, since this was only after the 7MB primer):

here are screenshots after updating:

i figured it out, my sim card was bad. i swapped it out for a new one, reactivated it, and now software build is working, and my phone is downloading software updates as we speak. sweet.....might wanna try this first before going the refurb route.

usfbulls - Thanks for the tip! I had Verizon send me a new SIM card, and as soon as I activated and installed it, I was able to pull the ICS update. (Despite the fact that 2 different Verizon tech support reps told me it wouldn't work!)

Ok...So.....I posted that it started the download, which it did as I already had the pre download. I read it, and it said the ICS 4.0 yada yada... I hit ok and it started its download. I knew from reading that it takes awhile. I verified that it was downloading in the status bar as well. Set the phone down and walked away. Came back about 20 mins later to check the status and it wasnt downloading or doing anything. Software hasnt changed either....Anyone else had this particular issue?

What is it with apple and flash anyway?

It isn't just Apple. Even ICS isn't Flash-supported by Adobe anymore. It's a dying breed with HTML5 on the rise. Eventually Flash will be gone, and thousands if mom-and-pop websites will have to make the switch. I think HTML5 isn't being taken as seriously as it should right now though. We all look at Chrome Experiments and go "ooh, that's neat" but it's the OpenGL that makes it fluid. That's one of the reasons why Sense 4 is so heavy in it, I believe. Someone has to make the transition and start to show its capabilities.

Then again, I may have no idea what I'm talking about, and I will admit that I didn't read all of Blackthanos' post. But my point is, Apple saw flash as an unneccessary license and is moving on.

I just realized that I was responding to a posting from almost a year ago.

After procrastinating I finally did a factory reset (a few hiccups, like screen freeze, and sense dropout)
And things seem to be running well, except for a 401 unauthorized error on my mail app. Mail app was working perfectly until I did the reset. Kinda annoyed because I enjoyed having the HTC mail app as a one size fits all. Good news is that the launcher supports folders ;)

So the mail app is borked after the reset? That is weird.

(i know, stupid question) You sure you got the settings right. I keep thinking you had to play with the port # and imap server info??? Something weird like that

All you need to do is sign into the corresponding account, wether it be gmail or yahoo or whatever. They have iconed links for each of those, after signing in it should synch to those servers. That's the way its been for me on mky Dinc, nc 2 and my rezound (prior to ics). I figured a workaround though and just signed into them using the pop 3 force. It seems to be fine for now....

EDIT: Not sure if it was coincidence or what, but I ended up going to the Software screen (where it gives you the option to select "Status" or "Check new" and I just left it on that screen for about 30 seconds after hitting Check new (which didn't notify me if the button worked or not) and it started the update. Other things I also did was plugged in the charger and got it to full battery and refreshed my Gmail to sync up with Google. Anyway, it's working fine now - no issues. Woot!

Okay so I'm not sure what exactly has happened to my phone - maybe I just need to be patient and wait a little longer but I'm not sure. Anyway, I woke up this morning and my phone was turned off. I tried turning it on and it wouldn't come on, so I plugged the charger in and waited a few minutes then I was able to boot it up. When I booted it up, there was a firmware download going on in the notification bar, but it wasn't moving - it just stayed there. What I figured happened, is that it automatically started doing the download without me saying to do it, and during the download the phone's battery died.

Anyway, I pulled the battery and did a reset and it finished the firmware download. After that I was expecting it to start the ICS install but it didn't and still has not. When I check the current software information and I see this:

I believe that is what it should be showing, however I still don't have the ICS update and my phone hasn't asked me about it yet. When I checked the support site (www.verizonwireless.com/rezoundsupport) it mentioned that after the download, I should see something like the below, but I never did and my phone sure didn't reboot 3 times:

Does anybody have any ideas on what I can do to get this going? Have any of you experienced this? As I said, I may just need to be patient but it's been a while now and still no notification. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT: Oh and also the "Check New" button is not working. I select it and the phone does nothing.

Yea, I never liked how it worked when I use it that way. I always add my yahoo through the pop3 option

Most people who have gotten in this position usually have to reboot into into hboot and factory default then reboot and it will start over and d/l the 7MB update and then the 299MB update again and install, or you could just install the RUU.
