Help I don't get on with the S3's keyboard. What alternatives have you tried?

SwiftKey is the best Android keyboard no doubt. It learns how to write like you by looking at how you type on your facebook, twitter, Gmail, and sms messages, it learns to spell the exact same way you do even for those that shorten their words. I could never use another keyboard lol

It's well worth the money but there's a free trial you can get on Google Play :)

I'm oscillating between SlideIT and Swift Key 3. The predictive text in swiftkey is awesome, but o find that I keep looking at it for suggestions, rather than typing, and that slows me down a lot.

SlideIT is actually faster, plus it's really easy to switch between the Swedish and English language settings. One trap and you are away. The only thing I don't like is the way they handle the , . ! ? I find myself searching for them constantly...

I use SwiftKey. Love it. First app I ever paid for too.

SwiftKey 3 ftw

Yeah, SwiftKey

I have used Swiftkey on both my EVO and Tablet for awhile now. Getting the S3, I tried the stock keyboard, then tried Swiftkey 3 and must stay, I will stick with Swiftkey 3. If you do not care for the Swype function, go with Swiftkey. You will love it, I promise. Get the trial to make sure you like it first, and play with the settings to get it right.

Wife and I are stuck on Swiftkey. One day she asked me if she was that much of a predictable person because she rarely has to type letters anymore!

With its full-version trial, you've got nothing to lose.

SwiftKey 3.....75% discount special offer on the play store at the moment. Making it 69p in the UK.

SwiftKey 3 is still $0.99 USD, but have no idea how long....

At that price, I suggest you jump on it if you are on the fence :D

I tried swiftkey and loved it. But i hate relying on auto correct.

I now have jellybean keyboard with nice big keys and i rarely make mistakes now.

I had the og droid, then the x2, then the bionic. I can't stand this keyboard. I want Kyle comma on the left of the space bar and I want it to go automatically back to the abc keyboard after the 123 keyboard automatically. The predictive text pisses me off too... is there a Motorola keyboard app for this phone?

Like others have already mentioned, I also use SwiftKey. I liked it so much that right after I tried the trial for a couple of days, I purchased the full version. I don't know how much it usually costs but I got mine when it said "sale" and was $. 99. Totally worth it. Great predictions, support for other languages, and great design. I also like that you can make the key length either small, medium, or large. I've tried slideit and that's also a good keyboard, but definitely do prefer SwiftKey.

I'm really not enjoying the S3's keyboard and much prefer the one that came with my 3GS. However, I understand there are alternatives and Swiftkey is often recommended. Is anyone happily using this on their S3?

Also, is there any way to get the vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich keyboard onto the S3 - I'm told this too is better than Samsung's efforts.

Thanks,
J
I love Swiftkey on my GS3. The problem with Swiftkey is that it shuts off and the stock keyboard reappears after the phone is restarted or turned off. Talk about annoying, and no one seems to be coming up with a solution for it.

Just get the stock Google keyboard in the market. Free and gives your phone a nice look. Good colors as well. I've tried a bunch, including swype and swiftkey and I really prefer the Google keyboard. I'm picky. The layout is more like an actual keyboard and the keypress sound isn't unbearable like many of the others. Try it. It's free and Google official
