Need help picking out a phone for my grandma

Okay so my grandma doesnt like the droid cuz she doesnt know how to operate it at all. Seriously she just learned how to pick up the phone when some one is calling. And she says that she will trade me a phone that i will get when i return my eris. So what phone should i switch to? I was thinking along the lines of the BB curve or the Lg env3 or any other simple 3g phone that has a qwerty Keyboard

Look I think your serious with our question despite that it sounds a bit different. I just went with my mom to upgrade her phone, she is 66. Now this woman, my mom, can text and sent mms. After talking to my mom we decided she wanted a non-smart dumb phone like she had previously. I do think this would be the best type of phone for your grandmother. BB curve would entail you receiving tons of calls asking "what to do when..." or "this is not working why..." Hopefully you get my drift.

Get a phone from Cricket, which are simple phones, with cheap plans.

Or, a to-go phone isn't a bad choice either.

You may want to double check, but if she got the Droid with an upgrade she will probably have to keep the data plan or risk an etf. So she will probably still have to have a smartphone.

My grandma can do a smart phone its just that she cant figure out how to use the droid... But i talked to her and she said that she wants either the pixie or the BB curve

If she's handled those two devices and prefers them it appears granny is more comfortable with real keys rather than the touch screen.

That Palm Pixi has more evolved software, especially the web browser, etc, than the Curves do.

I'm hoping you'll get her to play with both in a store for a while.

Well we gave my mom who is grandmother age a blackberry storm and after a few days of learning curve she loves it now. Her favorite phone of all time though was the env3. BB really is not hard to learn basic functions and the only troubleshooting technique she will need to get used to is a battery pull. Plus the messaging on 5.0 still blows every other OS out of the water. A curve would be a great phone if she wants a smartphone.

If she had to keep the data plan, they could still move her to a feature phone. It would just be a wasted 30 bucks a month. Jeez thats a lot of money. I'm glad i get half off my bill!

edit...not entirely wasted. just wasted in my eyes. seeing that I wouldn't have a 30 dollar data package on a phone that wasn't a smartphone. But it is an option

Seriously??

You need to get a cell phone that just calls people. No touch, no qwerty, no camera, no keyboard. My vote is for an old school flip phone. Big print is also a plus.
