Not Too Impressed with Note 2 Thus Far..

I've been an iPhone user for a very long time and decided I wanted to try something new. Since I was eligible for an upgrade I decided to get the Note 2 due to size. I've had this phone for about 2 months and I absolutely love the size but I've had several issues with the phone that's making me regret making the switch.

1) One issue is how long some pages on Facebook takes to load or if I'm lucky to get it to load at all.

2) I lose internet connection frequently on both wifi and 4g. Never had this issue before with any other cell phone. My wife has an iPhone 4s and never has this issue either.

3) I cannot send or receive MMS messages either..sometimes it works and I'm able to but most of the time it fails. I've browsed Google for a fix and tried everything..nothing seems to work permanently.

4) Ever since they released a new update for Jellybean (hoping to fix my previous issues) it's constantly failed to install no matter what I try. I've even factory reset the phone and tried.

I'm just very annoyed with this phone so far and was curious - am I making a bad choice by trading it for an iPhone 5?

The only time I have a problem with MMS messages is when I use a third party app like ChompSMS. They claimed to fix it in their latest update but I don't know if they have. If you are using the stock message app, it works flawlessly. But I have never liked the stock message app on Note 2 or my Evo4G.

I've had none of these issues with my Note 2, but I did have problems with my 4s connecting to wifi and slow load times. I would try a factory reset or exchange the phone before you go back to apple.

I don't have these problems so its either your network (likely?), or the phone (a networking issue which you will need to speak to Samsung about).

Have you reinstalled software through kies online?

Have you any dodgy non market apps?

I haven't had any issues with my network and neither has my wife. Just seems to be Note 2. I haven't tried Kies and don't have any dodgy non market apps. It's factory reset besides a couple apps like Pandora, Facebook, Twitter, and a couple other apps.

As stated the phone is factory reset. Still having the same issues. I googled my issues and other people are having them but I just can't seem to fix them.

I'm just using the stock messaging app.

This is my second Note 2. I had to take the first Note 2 back to AT&T due to it not keeping a charge. Charging port was becoming corroded just days after receiving it. Which I also saw other people had the same issue when searching online..not sure what to do about the issues besides just going back to Apple where I had no issues.

WOW!!! Just WOW! I read your complaints very carefully and can state that I, nor my wife have had ANY of those issues and I've had my Note 2 since launch day.

well if you want to rely on google and not speak to samsung they can't help you.

I try to steer clear of contacting support over the phone. I don't necessarily enjoy trying to figure out what the guy from India is trying to say. I've brought my phone into AT&T and they didn't really know how to fix it either. Will probably just get rid of this phone and go back to the iPhone..seems more reliable.

So I installed Kies hoping to do a software update and it's saying the current version is 4.1.1 and the latest version is 4.1.1 but I'm sure 4.2.2 has been out since February 11th..also when I go to About in my settings and look for an update there it finds one..

Just so you know, updating to 4.1.2 is not going to make your phone any better. My phone was working perfectly until AT&T pushed the 4.1.2 update to my phone. Now occasionally the screen won't rotate, and it seems to drain battery slightly faster even after I disabled multi wondows.

I don't have any connection issue with my Note 2 even though I also came from iPhone. You do have to call AT&T and make sure they provision your data plan correctly for the 4G LTE data plan. Most iPhone users had the older 3G or 4G plan and it might not work correctly with that phone.

If you couldn't figure out what's wrong, I would return it to AT&T within 14 days free exchange. You don't want to get stuck with a bad phone.

Mate if it helps I had the note, traded it for a 5 and regretted it straight away and ended up getting another note....a very expensive mistake on my part!!! Bear with it it's an awesome bit of kit and I've had all the iPhones.

That's going to be your best bet I think.

Those looks like legitimate issues. For one thing FB does take some time to load, but i think this is an app issue. I also think the antenna's reception isn't as strong as my previous phone, but only slightly. It only had issues connecting to my Wi-Fi only when I'm outside the house. I don't have issues connecting inside. Not sure what to make on your MMS issue, as previously stated it's probably a network issue.

Give it a little more time, and if it truly disappoints then it's easy to switch.
