Most of the wallpapers I use have already been resized for the Galaxy Nexus. I have a collection (most I haven't used), that you can find here. However in some cases, I will have the wallpaper resized for a non-scrolling single page. This is usually because the original does scale properly.
As for the softkeys, these are changeable via an option in the AOKP rom. I just have to upload the image to my phone and replace the softkey. It's much easier than making a flashable zip.

Here's a screenshot for you guys to enjoy my creativity 
I used Nova Launcher with AccuWeather Widget and Power Widget.
The screen is set at 5 rows by 5 columns, the dock pages is set to 1
and the dock icons are set to 7. I also enabled small icons so the size
looked right. The wallpaper is one I found via a google search lol
I used both the AOKP ROM Control & Nova Launcher settings to change
the colours of the navigation bar icons, clock & app drawers.

why? it's just the opposite for me... battery> customization's for me. i LOVE my gnex and everything i did with it, but the draining of battery and shoddy radios makes me sad

Using:
