Your thoughts/expectations of the HTC One (was the M7)

I have been trying to preorder mine on sprint.com and I tried on wirefly and neither of them are working, I keep getting an redirected back to a confirm order screen at sprint and on wirefly it says that it can't confirm my payment. I tried with multiple credit cards just to make sure it wasn't an issue with that. It's 5am here and I'm pissed I can place my order. Anyone else seeing this issue?

Lets keep the pre order discussions here. :)

I just placed the order on sprint.com at 0235 Pacific Time. took less than 5 minutes. I went for off contract pricing and picked up the silver (white) model.

I suggest you try a different browser, remove cookies, cache. Look on your card online and see if there have been any attempts to charge the order.

Are you up to date on your bill? I'm on auto pay and it showed that I owed money for this month. I was getting an error message but once I payed the bill it went through.

I was experiencing the exact same problem. After trying 3 times with the same credit card, I used a different one and the order went through. Strange, as there were no error messages when I was doing this.

Now available for pre-order,in SILVER only for now,BLACK will be available @ a later, yet undetermined date:

[/QUOTE] Black or BUST! If Black ...-One-fans-meet-the-HDC-One_id41357#4-]HDC One instead and paint it Black :D

Waiting a little longer for the Black, if it includes the 64GB option, might be well worth it.
The Evo 4G LTE Black (June 2) -> White/Silver (July 15) release dates were about 6 weeks apart, hopefully the wait for the Black One will be shorter than that.

From what I have read across the interwebs,

The black is more difficult to manufacture so that is the reason for the delay. The black model may not be available until after the official launch

I wonder if HTC Is using the Micro Arc Oxidation (MAO) process again to treat their aluminum and create the Black HTC One? Yes, The CNC machining and MAO treatment are long processes, but they should have perfected it along with the build timing by now through experience creating the HTC One S, Evo 4G LTE, etc.
From the Chipworks/iFixit Teardowns we can tell that HTC has had component parts on had such as the uni-body since as early as Jan./Feb.

In my un-professional opinion that should have been more than enough time to put ALOT of uni-bodies through the supply chain, MAO process, then build up...
Maybe I'm intentionally being a little na

Black models have certainly made it to reviewers, but fewer customers have had them for sure.

I expect that the black is more work to produce, but the silver is also more distinctive, so I wonder if that's a factor if they have to prioritise one version - get the more easily recognisable one into people's hands first?

I've never worked in marketing, so have no idea whether they'd think that way.

Get the return on production investment happening asap.

Build the standard model by priority until orders support expansion and variations.

Already a lot of radio and firmware models to support.

Going 32 GB silver is economic production sense.

Even Samsung, far wealthier, is holding back on their 64 GB model. Same reason.

The black and 64 GB model combinations will come as demand increases. Both cost more to make, so they'll come later.

It's all about turning inventory. If you don't offer two choices without money coming in, you don't run out of one choice.

Coming soon vs. We ran out = Big difference.
