Anime/Manga not so ultimate otaku Lounge

After finally getting through Samurai X, I tried out Ghost Slayers of Ayashi (Divine Comedy of Ayashi).

Found the rest of the series on Crackle where you have to watch the episode numbers, the last few out of order.

Worth it, even though it was a little taxing for the eating after a bit, it ties to a lot of lore and the ending nailed it.

I used to watch Saturday Anime on Sci Fi channel back in the 90's. Can't seem to remember what series was on there anymore.

In college a bunch of folks were crazy over Dragon Ball Z. Watched some of it, but didn't go crazy over it.

Where's a good place to start getting back into it?

I'm two episodes in to House of Five Leaves and already I'm recommending it. Intriguing.

This was one of the best series ever, only 12 episodes. I almost re-watched it immediately and I've never been in the mood to do that. I'm saving a re-watch for a rainy day. It's that good.

It's not comedy, it's dark and really well-done. At first the animation style had me at - whoa, what? - and in no time I couldn't get enough of it.

I'm on record for hating giant robots - unless it's Gurren Lagann. I just finished episode 8, good stuff. I read up on the story line first, it's going to get involved, but I also read some quotes and it prompted me to give it a go -

"Don't believe in yourself! Believe in me! Believe in the Kamina who believes in you!"

The stuff that comes out of Kamina's mouth is worth the price of admission - another highly recommended one.

Can't wait until tonight or tomorrow to start episode 9!

The 1000 year war Arc(It's last arc of Bleach,It's about midway now ) is worth reading ...It's Kubo's way of wrapping everything up and still be kickass
(unlike Naruto ...which is going lamer by the day) ..

Mostly ,it's like a time skip without a time skip ...All characters seem to maturing for the upcoming war ...
Might see the worst alliance actually ...Shinigami ,Fullbringers and Arrancars vs Quincy ...

Naruto has been flashback heavy but with this endless war with dead people, it just seems like they're wallowing in story/character recycling. After the last movie, I check in to see if they're going to move on, otherwise, too boring.

Hunter x Hunter continues to just kill it, great stuff.

i like them both DBZ is my all time favorite , but i prefer the english version of it even though theres tons of cut out nudes and its edited here in usa alot but i will watch them both & have with DBZ but only the usa Version Gives me goosebumps watching when Goku Turns super sayian for the the first time u can see his anger & his AHHHHHHHHHHHH just i always get chills from watching i know when he told me to take the ship & get off the planet id wouldnt not be argueing with him

Just like fullmetal alchemist the one they show alot of now on adult swims Saturday Toonami even though i like it alot, It isnt the one i remember watching as a kid same name but i remember Roy Mustang killing Wrath not Scar but it was a long long time ago i watched that series & mostly forgot about it but the storyline they have on Cartoon network seems somewhat similar but also alot diffrent , i just saw on netflix they have the old one that is streamable that iam gonna start watching all over from the begining because i know the storylines totally diffrent

I have to respectfully disagree...I think the Japanese version is closer to the mangaka's vision...I can see how the American version may appear to have more emotion but that may be both nostalgia and just the fact I don't speak Japanese...there are no guarantees the subs fully express what is said...also I think the Japanese version better illustrated that goku going SSJ1 was more instinct than just powering up...after all the whole transformation was due to inner turmoil than simply looking for more strength...

All that said DBZ is one of the better dubs I've seen...many the voices sound so goofy or wrong it distracts from the story which is the whole point of watching...

I agree I like watching dubbed anime but the voices have to be right if not I watch the subbed version instead.

Has to be subbed. Period. I feel that a lot of the English cast lacks the passion of the Japanese cast and they can never match a voice with a particular character. I'm also tired of hearing Greg Ayres in every series on Netflix

yeah i know what you mean alot of the English Dubs use the same voice actors but you'll mostly see it in a Funimation dub

we all have our likes but yes i can understand that u cant really know the true meaning or translation unless u know japanese, was wondering if i should try hulu plus? netflix is okay but 14.99 almost for both dvd & stream & i dont need the dvd and when iam searching i find alot i cant play unfortantly unless i want too upgrade so before i change my mind iam doing the 30 day free trial now any opions? on hulu plus vs netflix ? off topic for sure but it would be for streaming only & too make it not so off topic is there a good amount of streamable animie?

Netflix's selection seems to be waning...I'm not sure about hulu...I would seriously suggest crunchyroll they have the biggest selection and well its free for anything but the most recent week of shows

I got Blue Gender from Fry's Electronics yesterday...older anime seems to have such a different, grittier feel that is refreshing...as opposed to the newer stuff even if the graphics suck terribly. I should have gotten into anime twelve years ago when I was in High School. I missed so much cool stuff right when it was coming out.

it was the kaioken that he could use as just power up , all the sayians that went super sayian was a emotional break snap like they just did not care anymore gokus first transformation with freeza , vegita just not caring after struggling & almost dieing to become super sayian on a moon , trunks when gohan died fighting the androids just think after them going super sayian 1 it got off balance where goten & baby trunks could just turn ,
