You can still use junkies c++ tool to install recovery via fastboot method and root is achieved with a root zip... I believe the root.zip is in the aio tool thread...
thats pretty much it...make sure you have drivers installed... usb debugging... use the fastboot option in the tool... click on cwm or cwmt wait until it says its done... reboot in to recovery and install the root zip.
alternatively you can try the complicated way in my Public Mobile thread... that will work ... also you can use SuperR's Recovery installer tool... it requires a blank cd or a blank usb drive tho... try reinstalling the drivers...
there use to be a charge only option in ics though and with jb they dont have that anymore and it still gives me the error of process taking too long even though my drives are installed fine
the zte driver and the fastboot driver are 2 dioff drivers. it can be tricky to get it working on windows. Try using SuperR's CWM Recovery Flasher tool. it doesnt require anything to be installed. just make it a bootable usb or burn to a disc and boot it up (wont change your pc in anyway) very easy to use. And no in JB there isnt an option to charge only. Just use (MTP) mode
