I visited the authorised Samsung service centre for this same problem after the 4.3 update, but they informed me that everything is fine and nothing can be done about it, so now I can only hear my phone ringing in a room provided I'm present in it and out in public I continuously miss all my calls and have to profusely apologise
to all my callers for ignoring them which is embarrassing to say the least.

Can installation of a few songs amplified to a very high volume help in resolving this issue? If it's feasible can anyone upload a few amplified songs

I've done a search via my Note 2 On these forums and didn't find what I was looking for.

I have a two part problem.

1. Every time I play a video from any website the phone locks and turns off the screen in the middle of even a ten second video. SMART STAY IS ON. This has been an issue since I got the phone nearly a year ago.

2. Ever since the Note 2 got the OS upgrade I no longer can share videos on Instagram. Whether taken in the app or uploaded after.

Is there a fix for either?

Oh my nature, so many issues with this upgrade. I'm glad I rooted and stayed on 4.1.2...

I will move this post to the 4.3 upgrade issue maybe someone will be able to advise there. The only thing I can suggest is doing a FR, see if that helps resolve the issue, I would back up your important info first.

Found that Smart Stay doesn't work well in poorly lit or very bright areas. Basically in areas where the camera will have issues recognizing if you are staring at the screen or not. It's hit and miss with me as well.

I don't use instagram.

Well I didn't root did not bother with the 4.3 update am happy with the way the phone performs but was hoping that Samsung would have rectified all the problems people were having after this 4.3 upgrade......obviousley not seems it's a case of NEXT MODEL Mooooooor Money will wait for the Note 20 they will run out of ideas soon of what more they can add on these devices Saturation point comes to mind

Also I xant find how to reduce the size of the screenas for one hand use

I have a little issue... I dont remember this happening before the update... or right after the update so I am not sure what has changed.

You know how when you miss a call or txt msg your phone vibrates to let you know you missed something? So what happens now is that it also turns the screen on when I left it up and I missed either a call or a txt. How do I have it still vibrate but avoid turning it on??

I think this is carrier dependent. For example, I know at&t pulled it for some reason (which I was not happy about, as this was one of the features that drew me to updating to 4.3).

How do I update my phone to android 4.3 for galaxy note 2 GT-N7105? In settings about phone -->check for updates - it says that I have the latest updates installed but I am only on android 4.1. When I connect my phone to KIES it says: firmware informatation - This is the latest firmware - current firmare versions: PDA:MJ1/PHONE:MJ2/CSC:MK3 (3G) - Latest firmare version: PDA:MJ1/PHONE:MJ2/CSC:MK3 (3G)

Anyone got any ideas how I can update my phone?

Maybe ur update is not yet ready..?
Regarding the snote I downloaded the new snote nd its working but still have the older version dont know how to remove it tho copied all the old data to the new one and they work fine..
any idea how to remove the older snote version?

Well I got another solution for the snote older version nd its working fine now so wanted to share with all
copied from another site:

Add the "S Note (direct) 4 x 1" widget to your screen.
Tap on the widget's pen button to create a new note.
Exit out of S Note, and from now on, you can open the app from the regular app icon.
You can also remove the widget that you added.

Now its fine but will compare the new snote with the old nd see which is better nd will keep one only...

The update to 4.3 has just about junked out my Note 2 and made its useless as tits on a boar hog. None of this happened prior to the update. Everytime I get on the internet I get an error message that says "sorry internt has quit working". The phone just starts blinking wildly when you plug a charger into it. Volume of calls is 50% lower than before. When scrolling through contacts the screen automatically goes back to the top of the contact list as soon as you remove your finger. I am about ready to go to an Iphone.

Glad I'm still in 4.1.3 when and if I get the update I'm not installing it.

I have a corporate email account using Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
Bascially before the update to 4.3. I had no issues then:
1. cant download attachements but could reply to emails
2. then now i cant reply but still can recieve.
Called Verizon then Samsung. All saying their possible repair process as to check port settings. but now with the new update there is no option to even see the port settings.
Basically after all the tech support with both above. i am still in the same situation.
1. receiveing emails
2. cant download attachments
3. cant reply to emails
Can anyone help?

I backed everything up and did a factory reset last night. So far none of the issues I had after the update to 4.3 are happening. I hope it stays this way cause i want to keep my Note 2.

Good to hear.

It is recommended to do a factory reset before and/or after an OTA update. It solves alot (not every one) of issues

ok i also did in one last battle cry and tried the FDR. it ended with no luck on fixing my email issues. at the point where it should show you server port infomation. it doesnt.
where are the guru's on this?

I read your post out of curiosity. Did a quick Google on ms exchange on android 4.3...Looks like your not alone. I did not read all of the results from the search. There were so many..
But, one I read said Samsung is aware of the problem and working on fix? One suggested deleting account and redo.
Sorry, I do not use exchange. There is alot of posts out there about the issue though. Check it out if you have not already. Maybe there is a answer in one of them?

Didn't feel like browsing through all 11 pages so sorry if this has been addressed, but has anyone else experienced problems with the Bluetooth staying connected? My wife has the Note 2 and she can't maintain her Bluetooth connection in our car. Her phone used to work perfectly and the only significant change that has been made to her phone is the move to 4.3.

I have the same problem with my work email on my GN2 (sprint) running stock 4.3. The odd thing is that my personal AOL is fine and I can download attachments that way. I am trying to get our email vendor to step up to fix this as web searches havd shown that it is doable without having to wait for the samsung fix. Problem is that the vendor and my company are primarily apple/mac/iphone shops. The horror...
I have also tried clearing the cache/data for download manager but no dice on that. Anybody out there have a fix? Samsung is dragging their feet on this one.

How do,

I have a Galaxy Note 2 on H3G in the UK and earlier this week I was given the option to upgrade from Andriod 4.1.2 to 4.3 ...great!

Having done the upgrade I have a couple of little niggles that I hope someone has a solution to.

1) Texting. The default font size on my phone is set to Tiny, and this is fine throughout the phone except for the texting app, which has made the font huge. Furthermore there is now a picture of me on one side of the text bubble and the recipient on the other. A nice touch but, it reduces the amount of space available for words (and I know what I look like, I'm the good looking fella in the mirror each morning!) I have tried the volume control to decrease the size but I can only go bigger, not smaller.
Has anyone else noticed this or found a solution? I was thinking maybe I could download a new system font that is smaller than the stock ones maybe?

2) Texts are now displayed on the lock screen and I don't like it. They can be private or confidential, so I don't want the to be visible. I can turn the feature off, but then the preview on the status bar is also when unlocked is also disabled. Can one be disabled without the other?

Everything else seems OK so far, and the phone is definitely quicker. I preferred the look of the emails and contacts as they were before, but have to admit it is easier to see which emails are read and which are not now.

Any suggestions would be great.
