After my Galaxy Grand Duos became slow I got frustrated and bought a Moto G. My intent was to go back flash the image on the grand duos and use it as 5inch tablet.

Is there a way I can flash a lightweight OS on my Grand Duos and use it just as a e-reader? Dont want any other phone functionality>

Is there any tool which allows me to customize this phone?
I am completely new to this. I have never even rooted my phone before this. ANy input helpful
Thanks

Welcome to Android Forums iinfi.:)

I moved this to the All Things Root forum. I don't see much if any roms in here. You shouldn't need to do anything really to use the Duos as a WiFi only device. You could simply put it into airplane mode and manually turn on WiFi. This will leave the cellular radios turned off and not consuming battery without haveing to do too much.

Good luck.

If you mean make it look different, a different launcher and some wallpaper would do it.

If you mean ripping out everything you don't need to use it as an e-reader, only rewriting the entire firmware.

As far as flashing a lightweight ROM, just find one and flash it. The instructions are usually in the same thread as you'll find the ROM.

Define "customize".
