The stock camera has not worked on any of the new builds; not sure why but
switched to Cymera and like it much better.

I got a can't connect to camera using Cymera as well. Here's a logcat of when I try opening the stock camera.

can i dirty flash without removing the lines that check for the type of phone you have?

LiquidSmooth is one of the ROM's running under the "unified" builds, and d2vmu is an approved phone in the assert checks. Assert line issues are only applicable on Sprint-specific (d2spr) ROM's. Therefore, no need to do any modifications to the updater-script on a unified build ROM.

So if I get the latest LS rom version I won't need an APN fix or will I? Also I had a question about titanium backup, if I use it to back up my phone settings and then do a factory reset and wipe and flash combo, is my back up still in the phone or do I have to move the backed up files to dropbox or something? Sorry for being such a noob, and possible dumb dumb. haha.

APN fix is always needed for Virgin Mobile users, regardless of ROM. As far as Titanium, the backups go in a folder of your choosing on either internal or external SD. Doesn't matter which you choose, those partitions aren't touched when doing a wipe in preparation of a ROM install. You would have to intentionally choose to wipe internal or external in Philz if you wanted to wipe the storage, using a different menu option. All you need in Philz, when switching ROMs, is the Clean to Install New ROM wipe, under Wipe Data/Factory Reset. Dirty flashing subsequent nightlies of your current ROM doesn't require any wipe.

Many thanks, as always you are a huge help whenever I get confused by the differing info I read. I assume I can just find a fix through searching mopedryders posts then? Only other question is do you have a recommended fix version?

Restore your backup then try dirty flashing nightly from 4/19/2014. Also, are you using an app to do kernel tweaks? If so, it may be interfering and trying to apply incompatible settings. Trickster was giving Biker problems earlier, he used Titanium to clear the app's cache and then was able to flash.

Tried the Deathly kernel but my phone did not like it. I kept getting constant process shutdown messages, even after rebooting a couple of times. I went back to Quantum and it stopped.

O you have a problem with the wrong gapps . that process com was mentioned many times and people of the gapps always say that its correct one . so may I ask which gapps are you using .

How do I switch from AOSP messenger to hangouts? I opened it up and it wants me to invite friends and won't me do anything else. Never used hangouts before so not really sure what I'm doing with it.

UPDATE: I figured it out. Went Into the setting of the default SMS app and disabled it. First option in the settings. Then I went into hangouts and it became the default.
