Root [Virgin Mobile] List of Android 4.4.2 d2spr/d2lte Nightlies [All Compatible With d2vmu] **New Nightlies Available

One thing that keeps me on LiquidSmooth is I don't get the stupid 9016 text messages when getting voicemail. Seems other roms have this issue. Anyone know how to fix this or know of other good roms that don't have the issue

Most ROMs based on Cyanogenmod have the Blacklist Function in the Settings. You can add the 9016 number to the Blacklist so you won't receive texts by that number. I use Go SMS Pro and it has a SMS Blocker function as well.

As for ROMs, I'm using the C-RoM and I haven't received those 9016 texts. I didn't receive them with the Resurrection, Beanstalk, or Nameless ROMs either.

Tried Beanstalk again and once I removed stock messaging app and installed Textra the stupid 9016 messages stopped. Guess I should have messed with them a bit more before jumping back to Liquid smooth.

Let the ROM watch begin. Here comes ND8 KitKat

No, you can't install anything from this link. It's source for developers. But it means in the next day or so the roll out of ND8 KitKat will begin OTA. :)

Basically the source for the new GS3 kernel that will appear in TW 4.4 has been released. Should expect TW updates (OTAs) shortly...

I suggest as others, not to update as soon as you get it. Just like with 4.3 we don't know what we'll get in 4.4. Patience pays off. ;)

Also TW kernel is currently at 3.0 and is FINALLY making the switch to 3.4! Aosp has been at 3.4 for about a year.

Very excited!

Anyone recommend a certain ROM? I'm currently on cyanogen mod 11 04162014 nightly with dkp kernel. I've been having problems here and there with it but does anyone know a ROM that doesn't have any problems? I saw the Gummy ROM and I'm thinking about flashing that one, does anyone use it? Are there any problems? Thanks.

The Gummy ROM is a great ROM. I've used it for a couple months. Every once in a while, you might get a force restart. All of these Nightlies are going to have bugs. But Gummy seemed to be pretty stable. That one and the Nameless, Beanstalk, and the C-RoM are my favorites. They've been the most stable for me. I'm currently running the C-RoM. Has a ton of features. Been really enjoying it.

Just wanted to give you an update to let you know that 4.4 TW (ND8) IS OUT! CNexus has a zip and should be releasing something sooner than later, about a day or two. Check the link above to see more. They work with SPRINT so hopefully we can get something over here on the VMU/BOOST side too. :)

Thank you, I'll check them again and see which one I like most. Should I use a different kernel or keep using dkp? I'm mainly looking for a fast ROM and one that has good battery. Sorry for all the questions.

I normally don't flash kernels, but that's just me. But I would suggest using the GAPPS Light that I've posted in the list. It strips down GAPPS to only what is necessary to run your phone. I think it makes ROMs run much smoother. Both Nameless and C-RoM both have pretty sweet built in kernel tweakers if you keep using dkp, and they're fast.

And don't worry about the questions, it's all good.

I ended up flashing C-RoM and the gapps posted here and I'm loving it so far. Thanks for the help. I'll probably flash dkp if I notice it's slower. I haven't had much time to play around with the ROM though but so far everything's good.

Added the Paranoid Android nightlies to the party. I have to admit though, I only flashed the ROM to make sure it would work. And it does. Normally, I'd run the ROM a few days before adding it to the list. The C-RoM is by far my favorite ROM of all these. I had to go back to using it.

Apparently, there a lot of questions lately if a Sprint ROM will work with our Virgin Mobile phones. They most certainly do. Both the Sprint and Virgin Mobile GS3s have the same model number: SPH-L710. Because of that, Sprint ROMs are compatibile with Virgin Mobile GS3. You also have to fix the APN settings to get data to work. There are a dozen ROMs listed here to use. I also included the instructions of how to get the ROMs to work. And I've tested them all with my phone before I posted them to the list. I have posted APN fixes as well.

Have fun. It's your playground to make.

You're welcome. Saw your post and figured I'd add it to the list. I've been looking for the Paranoid nightlies for months and couldn't find them. Glad you found them. Paranoid Android has always been a great ROM.

I should add that the ROM probably works best with the Paranoid Android GAPPS. They can be found in the link for the info.

Just added the Vanir ROM by Team Vanir. It's a pretty smooth ROM. I used it a while back, but it was pretty buggy. So, I didn't post it to the list. But it seems like they worked out the bugs.

It has a pretty badass boot animation. You can actually change it. They give you 3 options for boot animations. To get to the dark them, go to Settings>Themes>Inverted. I think Gummy and Vanir ROMs have the best dark themes out of the bunch. I like how it's not just black and white.

I don't know if I said this before, but I recommend using the GAPPS Light .zip I provided. It only includes the necessary GAPPS to get the phone to run. Ever since I used them, my phone has been running so smoothly no matter what ROM I'm using.

And don't forget to download and install Candy Sweetner. It adds some nice modifications to your phone. I believe it's the last link in this huge last. It'll work with any of these ROMs. It helps add a little bit of a personal touch your phone. Dirty flashes are acceptable if you want to use it on your current ROM.

I went through the links on this list and found out the Slimkat ROM link was a dud. Apparently, they changed it from d2spr to d2lte. And the last build was 5/12, which is good news because there's continued development for our phones. Just a reminder, if you're going to use Slimkat, you have to use the Slimkat GAPPS which are available on the site.

If you find any links that are duds, let me know and I'll find the correct ones if I can. I want to keep this list up to date.

People use something other than LiquidSmooth?! Wha wha whaaat?

For shame, right? Honestly, I don't understand how it's that popular of a ROM. It's one of my least favorites.

For me, C-RoM is where it's at. And this is after trying all the ROMs on this list. I guess I really shouldn't be touting a ROM since the point of this list is to try everything. But C-RoM has everything. And I do mean everything. It seems like instead of wanting to give you the best of each ROM it's based on, they just wanted to give you everything. What's great about it is that it's smooth and fast ROM also.

I really like the PAC ROM for the same reasons. Tons of features, built in tweaks, and super stable and fast. The DKP kernel works great with it.
