Alright, for those who need steps, here they are:
1) If you want anything on your internal memory, back it up. It will be erased.
2) Place the most up to date
LTE Phillz recover ZIP (not TAR) onto your phone's EXTERNAL mem card along with either the Odexed or Deodexed version of the stock rom, what ever you decide to go with. Also make sure the
latest APN fix is on there as well. Some people reportedly haven't needed it, but I did so I recommend to have it on there just in case.
3) Download the latest
SPR Philz Recovery TAR (not ZIP), as Odin will not install the latest LTE due to checksum errors. (This may not occur for everyone, but it did for me)
4) Put your phone into Download Mode and use Odin to flash the ND8 tar ball. This will basically make your phone the Sprint SIII.
5) Immediately after it finishes, flash the SPR Philz Recovery. When that is complete, pull the batt, reinsert it and boot into recovery. Install the LTE Philz Recovery zip and reboot into Recovery.
6) Once back into Recovery, install whatever ROM you happened to fancy.
7) I booted the phone to test if I needed the APN fix. I had no data so I needed the APN fix and rebooted into recovery and installed it. You could try to do it before first boot, but I have seen a few instances so far in the forums where people installed it before first boot and had some funky data issues, installed it again and the problems went away. I can only assume that first boot is possibly writing something to modify APNs, thereby overwriting what ever fix you installed prior to first boot.
That's it! You should have a phone on ND8 and with VM service now! As far as I can see everything works like a charm.
There were some annoying processes like the "Wifi Optimizer" stuff that I shut off because they were draining batt life, but other than that the rom has been rock solid for me.
