how can i clear ram

Wow.. That's a bad instruction. Yes getting a better phone is everyone's best bet, but this one can be tweaked to no end.

I have this phone and it works fine for me. Actually, with Game Theory's Xperion ROM, this phone runs way above an entry level phone. As a matter of fact, the only thing I see that is" entry level" about this phone after the flash is the price I paid for it. With the available support community of devs and users here alone, this phone makes similar phones in this range of equipment look like kids toys.

If you get rid of bloatware, this phone is amazing, and there is a built in function to clear ram in the task manager. Add the widget to the desktop if you want to be able to clear ram manually.

Thanks for the decent response, i know this phone kicks butt, just need time for more roms and upgrades. Is there a big difference between the xperion rom and stock, ive removed literally all the bloatware, runs smooth, i was just curious about the ram cause when i run wifi and vpn it gets near the max. Is that widget on the custom rom?

On my experience i think (no ofrece, my opinion) the xperion rom is over hyped, i felt that stock ROM was faster IMO
I'm using stock with GT's kernel and the phone is as fast as its gonna get

The memory thing is still available on the Xperion ROM. And the ROM it's self is mostly for the aesthetic pleasure, but it does remove all of the bloatware and runs quite fast. Combined with the freedom kernel, this thing is awesome.

Also, I remember reading the safe overclocking range for this phone is 200mhz over stock(1.2ghz), because anything higher Is usable but becomes more unstable, uses more power so battery life is shorter, and the phone becomes a portable furnace.

So good I guess if you wanna keep your hands warm in the winter..

Not so good if you wanna keep the phone more then a few months.

My ram is about 500 mb under running apps, my wifi has gotten slow, ive removed almost all stock apps, what am i missing?

Clean your Cache every now and then. I use Clean Master Clean from the Play Store to do this. It's free and will free up some of that precious RAM right away. I'm not so sure about the Antivirus part of the app though, I never use it. Being a T-Mobile customer I've had Lookout installed on my last 3 devices and always used that. But Clean Master definitely will free up that memory for you.

Explain what you mean by "Where does the modem fit in"..

If a device runs hot, it could be any number of things. If you overclocked the phone, then it could be causing it, but there are many things to check.
I have mine overclocked to 1.4ghz at the moment. In order to make sure I don't have any problems with heat (which at 1.4ghz its not likely), I keep things running minimal. My screen stays at 30% inside, and no higher then 70% outside. My background data is off until I need to use Play Store, then I turn it off when I'm done. I don't store or leave the device in sunlight, or in a car. And I make sure to turn off any app that I don't need to be constantly running in the app manager.

For the ram clearing, I use the Task Manager widget on one of my desktops.

For cache cleaning, I use SD Maid by DARKEN from the app store. It works wonders and is lightweight. I have never used Android Tuner, so I'm not familiar with its function.

My current setup is: OS (Xperion ROM), removed excessive bloat, Overclocked Kernel (Freedom Kernel), OC to 1.4 this

I have no problems with anything

Blackflag4 Ive been messing with my vibrant, and have seen the modems there, and ok, one of my devices runs 1.2 normal and i put it on 800hz and it still gets hot, and runs my battery down, its weird. I also ran it like yours everything off, and the battery manager shows -80%/hr, then when i stop playing an app it slowly goes down. I guess AT is good, i need it for tether.

I would think about possibly getting an app that could monitor data usage to see if something you may not be aware of is using it.

There are also programs that can monitor processor usage, sleep time, and a bunch of other stuff. I had one installed but can't remember the name of it. I'll check my list of programs that are no longer installed and see if I can find it.

And I apologize if I missed anything in your posts, it's almost 3am here and I'm about to pass out so reading is becoming a task in its self. lol
