Root Bricked Phone After Root - Help!

I am new to Android, but picked up a Galaxy S5 last Thursday. I encrypted the phone right away and have been looking into rooting it, and today I finally made the attempt. Odin ran through it's processes and everything seemed fine. It showed the green, "PASS!" and rebooted my phone. Upon reboot it asked me for my password, I entered it and it flashed a picture of a droid and then went dark. It was completely black and unresponsive. I was able to restart it and got the same thing.

So, then I went and found out how to restore the phone, ran the program to restore it (which took quite a while). In this instance, Odin One Click said "PASS" again, but the phone responded the same way. Upon reboot it asked me for my password, I entered it, it flashed the droid picture and went dark. Nothing.

Is there anything I can do to get a working phone again?

Maybe a factory reset and wipe caches might help. After flashing some ROMs on my s3 i used to have to do a factory reset and wipe caches to get it to boot.

Just my opinion and you should wait for someone who has more knowledge about these things than me but thought i would mention it.

Good luck getting your phones back up and running ;)

EDIT - Doing the above will wipe all your photos etc that are stored on your device.

Not a problem, as my phone is brand new. I actually did exactly same as Unclesol.

So no data, no pic, no nothing was onn it, only a few apps that i can download again.

I have not done the full firmware factory reset yet.

Waiting to read something before going any further.

But full firmware should work, isn't it?

i got it:

small notch at the top-left of the phone.
3. Remove the battery, wait for a few seconds, and then reinsert the battery.
4. Line up the battery cover hinge with the designated holes inside the phone, then push the cover down until it clicks into place.
5. Press and hold Volume up, Home and Power buttons until the Samsung logo appears on the screen.
6. Scroll to wipe data/factory reset by pressing the Volume down button.
7. Press the Power button.
8. Scroll to Yes -- delete all user data by pressing the Volume down button.
8a: wipe caches
9. Press the Power button.
10. The phone will now wipe all contents.
11. Press the Power button.

I don't know for sure with the s5 but on the s3 if you could get into download mode you could try flashing stock firmware to try and fix the problem.

I take it you never got a chance to flash a custom recovery and do a nandroid back up before flashing anything? If you get your phone sorted you should always do a nandroid back up, it can save your ass in times of trouble ;)

Like i say, you should wait on someone who can tell you for sure what can fix it but thought i'd mention the wipe as it fixed problems on the s3 after rooting / flashing.

So does your phone boot now after doing the wipe?
