OnePlus One Accessories Thread

Here is a list of the 9 best cases for the OnePlus One in Android Authority's estimation:

Best OnePlus One Cases | Android Authority

#1 is now available for order/in-stock, as is the clear case @ their website.

I've got #6 (BOX WAVE Black TPU Case):
I like the design (vs other TPU cases),cut-outs for the buttons, as it prevents accidental button depressions while pocketed.

Once the changeable back covers are available, I might opt for the Black Sandstone, otherwise, I'm good, no other accessories needed.

Got myself one of the black Diztronic cases, and couldn't be happier. Also picked up the black and blue versions of this cheapy, as well as the Nilkin which is pretty much identical except it has a textured back and is more opaque.
Not a huge fan of those other cases, and I am using the screen protector that came with the Nilkin until my Orzly glass one shows up. The Nilkin one is fine. It fits well, but is a bit of a fingerprint magnet.

Finally got my screen protector from Orzly. Not sure if I'm going to tear off the one I have on there yet. Probably wait until it's a little more scratched up. I'll give a little review once it's on.

This is a bummer. I was hoping to get a denim cover at some point.

Style Swap rear covers, including bamboo, no longer in production for the OnePlus One

I was hoping for a Black Sandstone back cover myself.
The only availability I'd seen for the Bamboo cover was via OPPOMART,& it as a higher-priced option w/the phone, not available as a stand-alone accessory:

Buy Oneplus One - 5.5 inch Screen Qualcomm 801 CPU 3GB RAM CyanogenMod Android Phone

Looks like it's still available, but before I'd rush to order,I'd HIGHLY recommend verifying compatibility for your area/carrier.

As for why OnePlus abandoned the accessory (in any style),my guess is too many people were damaging them while changing them out,or,damaging the phone itself.

Either way,I'm disappointed in this bit of news. :(

Just got this in yesterday:

OnePlus Store - OnePlus.net

No surprises here, except maybe the packaging, which is styled along the same lines as the one the phone is packed in. :thumb: :thumb:

TBH,I'm not a fan of this style of case,or more so,the material,a hard PC material.
(Curiosity & an on-going accessory habit got the best of me) :p .

The case looks nice in the render/photo,covering a white phone, which almost no one has access/availability.

Once paired w/the Gray Sandstone back cover, the translucent case mutes the color, giving an overall horrible look, akin to plastic covers on living room furniture.

The looks are one thing, functionality is a mixed bag:
The link/photos give an accurate depiction of the minimalist protection the case provides,no problem w/that.

However, the phone is downright slippery w/this case, polar opposite of the pleasant/secure feel-in-hand the sandstone texture back cover provides.
If this case had a similar texture,I might rotate it out w/the TPU Case I use.

While no case does this phone justice,I'd have to place this one way down the list of any I'd recommend.

I wanted to replace the black cover with a white one, but you can not even buy the 16 GB model from them. Yet, I see them listed on amazon/ eBay. So even if those are China only phones, they are still producing the white covers. But, you can't buy one?

My guess is that the design isn't well-suited for changing-out the back cover & that it presents too many problems to go w/it,namely the reports of creaking when handling the phone after a change-out.
Also, since the fit is rather snug, one could damage the phone in the process & in turn, create an RMA w/OnePlus.

Their profit margins are already reportedly razor-thin/non-existent,so,there's another reason why they threw in the towel on this one.

Am I disappointed,YES,absolutely.
Am I an apologist for OnePlus,NO,but, this is a minor disappointment at most.

I've seen much worse from other phone mfgs who've promised upgrades pre-production & never followed through/misrepresented specs/or,just walk by other pink elephants in the room w/o so much of a blink of an eye.

As I opined in PHANDROID earlier today,I think that overall,OnePlus' 1st attempt at the flagship smartphone segment has been a success, other mfgs/corps would do well to produce/sell a comparable phone at a competitive price.

Yup, this is what they said in the press release, plus it also risks damaging the sealed battery.
We want to note That our "StyleSwap" covers were an ambitious and innovative concept for us; very few companies offer similar options. We focused heavily on how it would allow users to personalize and customize Ones and Their offer blackberries choice. But now we know That we could have designed the removal process of the back covers better; it's tricky and difficult Makes frequent switches. The swap can Also leave the back cover slightly creaky or loose, and it risks damage to the battery Which is exposed for a short time...There's no question That we are disappointed we were not Able to deliver on this. Also But we're much more knowledgeable and know what steps to take to Ensure this will not be a problem for the OnePlus 2, we will make sure the battery is properly protected and the StyleSwap the covers are safe easy to replace. So as always, stay tuned.

they can still use the covers and probably will. they just won't be swappable.

choose which cover you want at purchase and there ya go.

That option was not available when I bought mine. All i could do was order the white flip cover, which makes the phone much thicker and heavier. Since I carry phones in my pocket, even in cargo pants it is much harder than carrying a pantech discover, moto g /lte, or lg f3 around.
