On the moon
So about two weeks ago I was using my phone all day with no problems, then it suddenly froze and rebooted itself. Then it worked for a few minutes and froze again. Thinking nothing of it, I pulled the battery to restart like I usually do. Well upon reboot, the phone booted throught the event logo to the virgin mobile boot animation and froze on that screen. I again pulled the battery and again it froze on that screen and will not boot past that screen. I have factory reset 20-plus times and nothing. Cleared the cache, nothing. And unfortunetly I didnt have usb debugging enabled on my phone before this and adb won't recognize my device upon connecting my phone to my laptop.

Please help

I'll be frank here.

That phone is not really worth trying to recover in that sorry state.

You're better off backing up whatever data you've got in the external SD cad, reformatting it and then getting a new phone. Better yet, buy a new SD card for the next phone, to be safe. Don't bust a nut trying to save that Event. It's not worth it. That's basically the same BS that happened to my LG Optimus F3 after a bad bout of overheating. In my case, it even ruined the SD card I had on it! Fortunately I backed that up a few days before the incident.

Best Buy is currently selling the Event for $19.99. The cheapest new phone that can be rooted on VM is the HTC Desire 510. The cheapest with enough of the latest features is the LG Tribute ($59.99 at Best Buy). It isn't root friendly (yet...?), but works really well out of the box, thanks to its G3 like interface.

Well my sd card is ok. And I'd love to get a new phone if I had money. Unfortunately I'm broke currently so I wanted to see if it was possible to fix my event.

I thought about sending it to Kyocera or calling them but I didn't think that they'd help due to my phone being rooted.

My event won't even enter safe mode when I hold down the volume buttons, it just vibrates and sits there.

Thanks for replying btw
