Anyone know of a good reason why Android System UID would ask/need to ask for root?

Let's break that down.

UID means user ID - and SuperSU can't figure out what process initiated that, so it reported it as system_user_1000 (aka user ID = 1000).

And Wanam has been updated and you're running an HTC last I knew.

Are you on a Lollipop Xposed where the bug returned??
