Help Alarm 'off' slider has dissapeared post Lollipop update

Since updating to lollipop, my Sony Z3 Compact does not allow me turn off my morning wake-up alarm ( stock alarm clock ) - The alarm 'snooze/off' slider no longer appears, in fact the phone remains in sleep mode & the only way I can deal with it is to power off.

It doesnt seem to be possible to uninstall the stock clock/alarm app, so I cant uninstal/reinstall.

Any thoughts anyone ?
