Official EVO Rumors and Speculation thread

I know you are drinking and on vacation so I will give you the benefit of the doubt :D ...still, if you read the press release, it clearly states that for the Evo, 4G is a $10 addon and hotspot is a separate $30 addon.

My bill that went up with the new plan I had to buy for my Pre is going to go up again for the Evo. Yes it is still cheaper than the competition and I will probably swallow my pride and get it anyway.

I am just disappointed that they are charging for something that makes data delivery cheaper for them and that the CEO flat-out said would not cost any more than 3G data plans do now. It's a bad business move and yet another $10 added to my monthly expenses.

$10/month is still a bargain IMO.

Uh, what phone are you using?

At the moment, I'm using the iphone 3G with unlimited text. That's $40 for voice, $30 for data, and $20 for text = $90. Even with the $10 4G add-on, sprint's plan is cheaper by $10.

well i guess it depends on the minutes we get ;)

i pay 160 for two lines sharing 1400 minutes with unlimited data and text so i just did quick division and figured i'd be paying the same at sprint. i'm okay with that, i'll love my evo but i'm not saving any money

I think it will be very bad to charge an extra $10 a month to use 4g.

Someone needs to get to the bottom of what that statment actually means.

specially when 4g isnt everywhere... i live in orange county and 4g isnt coming here untill the end of the year (or thats what im hoping for) but yet, im still gonna have to pay an extra $10 for 3g? thats gonna suck.

IMO it's an add on. that means optional. they will not charge for 4G in a non-4G area.

the way that it read seemed to me and apparently a lot of others here like it wasnt. it seemed like only the hotspot feature was optional. i'll not convinced but it did seem like that was the case. hopefully we'll get official clarification soon

What is it that people don't understand about add-ons? I have the same thought as you. If it's an extra 4G requirement I think Sprint would've stated it that way...otherwise they need a new PR person.

Nothing has been confirmed one way or the other people, my God, calm down.

So June 4th from Sprint.

How about early releases via Best Buy / Radioshack? Are those still going to be released before the 4th?

Yes, if you notice Dan, did mention anything about pre orders. The general public will be able to walk into a Sprint store/any store for that matter and get an EVO

The May 21st pre order date stands firm at RS and BB.

The May 29th date still is firm for people who pre order on the 21st.

Take to the bank on that one...I am happy to get flamed.

BSOD>-_O<

I honestly have not her anything on Premier customers, but there got to be some love coming your way.

.

Because even if they were off a little bit, they didn't deserve to be flambasted by people who had different dates or no info at all... AGAIN....JMHO

I think he owns us an apology. He came in her with bad information and trolled. So far nothing he said has panned out. Nothing.

They are charging extra for 4g. It is june 4th. Everything else he said already proven wrong.

Now can we drop it. Jackson is not here to defend himself.

i think you'll be ok. no need to panic yet. worst case scenario it's only $10/month. $120/year. that's a light bar tab for me on a bad night.

Well, if the EVO stays with the 69.99 plan, you can get 2 EVOs on a family plan, with 1500 minutes, unlimited data and text for $150. Again, $10 cheaper than yours :p
