Before passing, Crash gave me an email address to trust for legit news should something come our way. I emailed the address after getting a PM from Kaat asking if I'd heard anything, and asked on behalf of AF if there was any news I could pass on. Crash's wife replied back with the following:

Mary Meador said:
OMGoodness, Glad to hear from you! This is Mary, his wife. I was hoping, and should've known that he had set something up to let you know...

Tim passed into the great beyond Saturday, the 9th, at about 4 pm. His obit was in the KC Star on 4/12 under Timothy Paul Meador.

We played his requested Pink Floyd tune, Wish You Were Here/Shine On You Crazy Diamond...LOUD.. with all the windows open wide! It was so windy that day! His spirit was swirling round and round the room.

Our daughter, Sarah, spent the night and we left the windows open! I cuddled up in his robe and blankets..it felt like camping..we could smell someone's fire pit! Sunday morning brought some cleansing rain and rumbles of thunder. We sat on the front porch listening to the birds and rumbles..smelled so fresh..could feel him near!

Tim/Crash let us read some of your comments to him after he let you in to his plan. I really had no idea how he kept busy these past few years. I'm so glad he had an outlet and was able to share his vast knowledge of self taught computer stuff.. You all left such wonderful messages! I know he felt appreciated and meant so much to him..and me.

The picture in the paper is from Tuesday's Royals' day home opener. Sarah came over to watch with him. this VDD journey took much longer than we expected.. but gave us time to cross some milestones.. Our 38th anniversary, being able to watch spring training games and then even both of the home openers! And of course plenty of time for all our reminiscing which brought us closure.

We're going to scatter his ashes in some of our favorite places, including a park we'll always call Lake City Park, out near the ammo plant of the same name east of town, a mountainside in Colorado, and under a tree that we'll plant in the back yard.

Our Angel Tim will certainly Shine On!

Thanks for getting in touch!

I'm not sure she checks here so, should you want to pass any words to the family, the link above is to their local obituary and guest book. Goes without saying, I'm sure all here agree that we are thankful the journey is complete and Tim was able to get where he needed to go on his own terms, with all his friends and family's support. Rest in Peace, Crash!

Edit: Gathering in his honor is happening tomorrow, Sat, from 1-5 at BBs Lawnside in KC, MO: http://bbslawnsidebbq.com/events/mama-rays-jazz-meets-blues-jam-april-2016/

Swing by if you like, or if you want to do like a few have mentioned, raise a glass in his honor in that time frame! I plan to, and post a picture of it. I'll link his wife here when all is done so she can see all the nice things said about and to crash during this journey.

Thanks for this. Certainly sad news but happy that the family had their chance to reflect and for closure. Rest in peace Crash.

Rest in peace crash. I can't believe when I read someone died on this forum, not because people don't die, it's just the impact and knowledge they've left behind. Crash, thanks for all the knowledge you shared with us, may your soul be at peace. My condolences to the family. Death is never easy. I hope I make sense last few days have been rough, and now I read this.
Anthony.

I have had many friends disappear from the internet and no one knowing why it happened. Sad as it is, it is a thing that will happen to every one of us sooner or later. Thanks, Crash, and Phases, for setting things up so that we in the wide (internetworked) world a little closure.
