Help Phone is stuck in "Android is upgrading. Optimizing application 1 of 1" HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i remember i was downloading something from google play store but it took so long so i cleared cache from playstore then i also used clean master and du booster to clean junk but it was taking longer than usual also so i stopped my downloads and everything i was doing.

i powered off my phone. then turned it on again and it says

"Android is upgrading, Optimizing application 1 of 1"

and i already slept for more than 8 hours and its stuck there. I cant do anything except remove my battery, sim and sd card.

help me please....

A factory reset will clear it, but the question is whether there is a less destructive option.
how do i do that?

everytime i turn my phone on, it says android is upgrading". i cant press anything. i cant even turn it off. my only options are removing the battery, sim and sdcard or plug my phone to the pc.

hey guys, my phone is stuck in "Android is upgrading. Optimizing application 1 of 1"

and all I can do is
1. apply sdcard/update.zip
2. reboot system now ( does NOT work coz it brings me back to optimizing apps )
3. apply update from external storage
4. wipe data / factory reset
5. wipe cache partition
6. apply update from cache

is there a way i can backup first all my files before factory resetting my phone (if thats the only option i have)????

help me please

I don't know that phone - not a model we have here. You can factory reset from recovery mode, and you generally get into recovery by holding some combination of buttons down while rebooting the phone. You can force a reboot by pulling the battery out, so you could try doing that while pressing menu, volume buttons, or some combination (it varies a little between manufacturers).

Incidentally, it might be worth keeping the battery out for a couple of minutes, then seeing whether it will boot - a long shot, but you never know.

What recovery looks like also varies between manufacturers, but if you get to a screen with a little android lying on it's back that's the commonest way it appears.

If you can't get it to boot there's no way of backing up, which is why I was hoping someone would have another idea. If you resort to a reset remove the SD card first, to be safe. If you have USB debugging enabled already you might be able to use ADB to back up, but if it's not enabled there's no way of turning it on if the phone won't boot.

The crazy thing is that I think that all that's wrong is that it's trying to finish installing the one app, but isn't able to complete it. So if you could remove that single app you'd be fine, but without being able to boot I don't know how. Again, if you had left USB debugging enabled there would be a chance (though you'd probably have to be rooted too), but as that's off by default I'm guessing it's unlikely.

Glad you got it going, but now that you have, I highly recommend that you uninstall Clean Master and especially DU Booster. Clean Master is unnecessary and can even be counterproductive. DU Booster is a problem waiting to happen. Likely when you ran DU Booster that was the cause of the lockup.

I never use any cleaners, task killers, RAM managers/optimizers, antivirus - none of that stuff is worthwhile.

In the perhaps unlikely event that you have a similar experience, if you have 'wipe cache partition' as an available option, you could try that first - it doesn't affect data or settings and has cleared a number of weird glitches on my HTC One.

If you are able to get into the recovery you should always try to clean cache before doing a factory reset. Cleaning the cache can at times be the only solution you need to the issue. A Factory Reset should always be a last resort. I agree with staying away from all the junk apps out there. I do my cache cleans manually well I have a script that does it manually I just click a button lol :) But its a script I wrote and I know what its doing. It uses much less resources than these clean/boost type apps.

Does this work on Marshmallow devices &/or,is the script device specific,or,specific to your particular phone/app usage?
If it's something that can be used across the board,I'd be interested in it,if you would be so kind. :)
If for whatever reason it's not doable, that's cool. :thumbsupdroid:
The only scenario where I'd need a cache cleaner is for Marshmallow & above non-rooted devices.
Otherwise,I use SD Maid Pro & have it set to automatically clean once a day................
