Help Music Won't Show

Hey guys,

I have been on various forums and websites trying to figure out how to transfer music.
It seems super simple, but my phone just won't show the music for some reason. I am on windows.

1. Plug in phone
2. Turned phone to "Transfer Files"
3. Open Pixel under file explorer
4. Transfer music files to the music folder of the Pixel

Easy right? However the music will not show up on my phone. I've looked through the Play Music and a different app as well.
I've read to turn on developer tools (tried), no luck. Then I tried turning on USB debugging, didn't work. The only thing I've managed to get to work is Wondershare TunesGo on the trial version (only 10 songs allowed to transfer), but I don't want to pay the money for the app.

Am I missing something?? Thanks.

When you plug your phone into the PC, you should see an icon in your notification area asking you to select the USB mode - by default, it should shows "USB charging this device" - tap on it - in the window that pops up, select "Transfer files".
Now, in your computer's explorer, you should be able to see the pixel folders.

What format are your music files ? .wav, .aac, .ogg, .mp3, .wma, etc?

I totally forgot to mention that I did that as well with all the aforementioned steps.

They are .WMA files.
And they were .WMA when they transferred using the Wondershare software. When I went into the files it just simply looked like Wondershare moved the files the same way I was trying to without it. Not sure why it won't work any other way.

If the songs are in WMA, I don't think they'll be recognised by the stock Google Pixel music player. WMA isn't supported due to Microsoft patent royalties and licensing.

Oh, OK, that could be the issue maybe. Best recommendation for converting to m4a or mp3?

Try using Rocket Player, that plays WMA no problem, no need to convert. That's what I've been using for a long time now.

The Windows Media player used to have an option to save as or convert to mp3. Been a long time since I used WMP but I assume it's still there ..
