I need help with installing bluestacks

I am trying to install Bluestacks on a Dell Inspiron 3541 laptop OS Win 7 home 64bit. Every time I try to install Bluestacks I get a windows error message saying "the prog/file is not compatible with this version of Windows that your are running". This is the latest version of Bluestacks that I just downloaded.

I guess you should try using another versions. this version works on my win 7.

Because I can't get the latest version that I just downloaded of Bluestacks to work on Win7 home 64bit. I get the following error (this is not a direct quote of the message) "This program/file is not compatible with this version of Windows that your are running" from Windows. I was able to insEdittall bluestacks on my old Compaq-Presario-C700, OS Win 7 home 32bit.

I guess it's possibly the drivers that Bluestacks uses. For 64bit Windows drivers must be 64bit compatible and digitally signed, and it sounds like with Bluestacks they're not. Might be worth contacting the developers, see if they can suggest anything. Although Bluestacks comes from China I believe, as does much of the Android on a PC things. Here most PCs are still running XP Pro 32bit(usually pirated), and that could be what the Bluestacks devs are using.

Did you download Bluestacks from bluestacks.com or bluestacks.cn, the official sites, or somewhere else?

You want to say bluestacks installs on your old 32 bit os pc but it didn't install in your 64 bit os pc. so, i think you need to find the perfect version of bluestacks which compitable with your os. ( as i said that the bluestacks 2 version works for me)

Bluestacks 2 rooted is what I downloaded. I am thinking of going back to Win 7 32bit anyways. I am having the same problem with other prog's that say they work on both 32 bit and 64 bit, but they don't work on the 64 bit.
