Help Wifi Texting says failed but completes

I noticed this issue on the note 7 and s7 edge i am seeing it again on the s8+. It does not happen all the time and a reboot usually will correct it.

When the phone is on WiFi calling and and using SMS or MMS the messages will sometimes list as failed but the recipient gets them anyway. If you attempt to resend the message it will send another message doubling up your SMS or MMS to the recipient. I am on T-mobile.

Has anyone else seen this issue and know a way to correct it?

Got the exact same problem with my S7 (not an Edge), wolfbird. I'm quite the techie, but I just can't figure this out. But you're right - it does go through. Very strange - I'm thinking maybe a port on the router needs to be opened? I'll keep trying and if I get lucky, I'll post the solution. Thanks!
