Still no Google Assistant? (UK)

Updated to Android 7.0 on my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and long pressed my home button to check if I had finally recieved Assistant, and yet still Google Home shows up. My device is unrooted to clarify.
Considering the update was rolling out mid-March in the UK, is something up with my device? And is there anything I can do to get Assistant?

My app is up to date, I cleared the Google App cache, tapped and held the home button and still no joy. Any clues?

I've not seen it yet, either in UK Play or Hong Kong Play.

This is getting even more disappointing. My Google app auto updated to the brand new latest version today, and STILL nothing. I thought the UK update was gonna roll out in April?

I asked samsung about this on twitter ages ago and they never responded, so they are delaying rollout in the UK, no idea why.

I think it has something to do with OEMs. My HTC 10 has it but my LG G6 doesn't. Maybe HTC made a deal to have it first, like Samsung did with the 835 processor?

Don't know if anyone is still waiting for Google Assitsant as I was until a few days ago. I read on another forum to change the phone's language to English US., clear the cache and data in the Google app (under Storage in the settings) then press and hold the Home button. I did all this and to my shock it worked. I've even changed the default language back to UK English and it's still working. Hope that helps someone.
