Just to add some details to that video
-- This link has step by step instructions on rooting your S5 SM-G900F:

Note that it is more involved than using one of those one-click rooting apps but with older Samsung devices you're much better off using the Odin utility running from a PC. Once you use one of those one-click apps there are security and privacy issues involved. Odin itself originally was a utility developed and used by Samsung internally, then later leaked to the public, and even though Samsung no longer supports it, Odin continues to be a community maintained project.
-- Common practice is to use the latest version of any software but with Odin there are issues relative to older hardware. Here's a link with each version, download and use the recommended version for your situation.

-- You'll probably need to install the Samsung driver on your Win PC before you can even use Odin. Your phone won't be detected and won't mount properly by the OS without it. If your Win PC can't 'see' your S5, no utility will be able to either.

-- Odin is a Windows utility so if you don't have access to a Windows PC there's also Heimdall, an Open Source alternative to Odin that's available for Linux, Mac, and Windows. It's functionally similar to Odin but there are minor differences in the menu interface so you just need to be a little more flexible to do the same task. (Use the latest version, there isn't the same backwards compatibility issue as Odin)
https://glassechidna.com.au/heimdall/
-- Using Odin (or Heimdall) you'll need CF-Auto-Root to do the rooting process:

-- One last point. In the event something got messed up with the Android OS on your S5 when you were experimenting with those one-click rooting apps, you can just re-flash it with a factory ROM. Flashing stock ROMs do not require root (as opposed to custom ROMs that with Samsung phones require a custom Recovery and root) so you then just get your phone working properly again, and then you can try to root it again. A couple of reliable sources for verified, stock Samsung ROMs is either sammobile or updato:
