Airplane mode

Settings - Airplane mode
check whether the option is really enabled.

On most mobile devices especially Android if Airplane Mode is enabled there should be a small airplane icon in the taskbar and when it's not enabled you won't see it. That's just a little something that the developers implemented to its devices to let users know their device is not communicating by adding that icon to the taskbar when Airplane Mode is enabled.

Unfortunately every device have had when I turn airplane mode on no communication comes through not even Wi-Fi but maybe that functions vary from device to device.

Well I know WiFi definitely works when the phone is in flight mode...like when I was in a Boeing 777 at 36,000 ft above Siberia.... :D

Yes I've seen that on some devices but what I was indicating is the ones I use when airplane mode is enabled no communication comes in or out because of my mobile Banking endeavors.

I think it should work and have full internet communications via WiFi only, including banking endeavours. After all it's not only flight mode, many Android devices just don't have cellular 3G or 4G in them.

From what I've encountered, enabling Airplane mode does disable all online connectivity effectively. But one can still then selectively re-enable something like WiFi on it's own, still leaving everything else as is.

Sorry, something went wrong.

A team of highly trained monkeys has been dispatched to deal with this situation.

If you see them, send them this information as text (screenshots frighten them):
