Help Fingerprint not WORKING

Today I attempted to recover my files from my device using a program called dr.fone, not that I was locked out of my phone, I was testing it to not stuff up the recovery of my friend's phone. What ended up happening (what I think happened) was that the program downloaded a custom ROM onto my Galaxy s7, which in turn, somehow disabled my fingerprint sensor. I reset my device to factory settings to attempt to remedy this issue, however it did nothing. Now I'm extremely frustrated. I've also tried holding power + volume down , and cleaning the cache partition, neither of these worked. Please help! And now I'm also getting a SecurityLogAgent notification saying that "Unauthorised actions have been detected. Restart your device to undo any unauthorised changed."

Well you installed a custom ROM, yes?
Maybe the ROM don't support fingerprint scanner because you not only needs hardware but also software that supports it

Is there a way to reinstall this software and/or the original ROM? And whats really weird is that my device says that its rooted, but my Galaxy s7 is a SM-G930T, which apparently shouldn't allow it?

If Dr Fone has somehow interfered with the phone's software (I doubt it's gone as far as installing an entire custom ROM) it is possible to find official firmware at Sammobile.com and reflash it. I'm not an expert of flashing Samsung devices, but there are plenty here who have done it and can advise on that.

I've heard of Dr Fone modifying phones' software before, but it should be much harder with a modern phone and a locked bootloader. So I'm a little surprised it managed this. Less surprised that it messed something up in the process though.

In searching for background information I did see that the same people advertise a tool for removing security locks from phones. So they clearly do make attempts to interfere with fingerprint security in some of their software, and if it works it's a deeply irresponsible piece of software to advertise, because obviously the people it would benefit most are criminals...

Without paying for a subscription, I can't seem to download anything from Sammobile.com

Yeah I can get into download mode, but apparently the sm-g930T has a locked bootloader or something. If thats important.

If you can get to download mode, you should be able to reflash the software using firmware from here, just put in your country and model and it will bring up the correct download links.

You'll also need a piece of software called Odin, which you can get here. There are also instructions on what to do once its downloaded.

You'll need an account to sign up to and download stuff from Sam mobile. The downloads will be slow, but a free account should do it.

Try another browser? It doesn't do that for me so I presume it's something to do with your cookies/cache etc?

Regardless, you can download odin from here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/official-stock-firmware-update-odin-t3369431 (there's a link in post 1 & 2), but you'll need sammobile for the firmware downloads.

I can't use Odin, its a locked bootloader. Im fine for the moment with the root, I just need the fingerprint software back.
