Notifications Error Message

I am using a MotoE 2020. I had music assigned so I would be notified of any incoming text messages and it was working fine until today.
Now I do not get a incoming musical alert when I receive a text message and I don't even get the dot by messages on the "home screen" that I used to see if I missed the ringtone alert. TThe ringtone I chose is still there and still working when I tested it so the app does have an assigned ringtone.

When go to APP Info and click on Messages it says notifications are OFF
When I click on that it takes me to a new screen that says Show Notifications in Blue with a white circle and
when I click on that it says :" At Your Request , Android is blocking this apps notifications from appearing on this device "

I don't know what I have done as it was working fine yesterday .

Check to be sure that the volume down button has not been inadvertantly pressed.

Once it reaches its minimum level, and is still pressed, the ringer volume will be first changed to vibrate, and then off completely.

Many, if not most, devices have the ring and message volumes tied together, so if one is off so is the other.

Thank you.
The volume button shows that it is on full volume and ring mode.

I cannot find the app you are referring to when I use my Android and go to play store where I upload an app.

When I go to settings, messages, notifications it shows Notifications off (see attached photo ) when I click that it takes me to the error message that I first posted and I cannot turn Notifications on. When I click the Open button on that same screen it takes me to my last text message to my grandson .

Thank you for your patience .

Thank you I did upload the Sound Manager it says all is on high volume system volume, ringer volume, media volume, alarm volume , in call volume are all on full.. The app doesn' t seem to work on Moto E 2020 because when I click schedule to the screen turns black and am unable to do anything else in the app. I would totally reset phone about now, except my grandson isn't here to get it up and running again with all the initial set up that it took :I :(

Thank you again and I would like to add one more thing that my old eyes just noticed on the Android Moto E 2020. When the phone is laying flat on the table and the screen is black when I pick it up shows the time, the date and the battery strength surrounded by a blue circle before I even turn the phone screen on to open it. I just noticed that also if someone has sent me a TEXT MESSAGE there is also the little message app showing on the black screen where I haven't opened the phone yet, like it is a silent notification?? Thank you.

Puppykickr et al' I solved the problem by finally reaching support at Android with a lady from the Philippines that was very hard to understand, but I hung in with her. She had me go to
Settings:
See All App
Three dots on top right of screen: She had me push Reset app preferences
Then Settings, See All Apps again and three dots and
Show System
Clear Cache

After doing this my phone is now working and giving me a ringtone when I receive a text message.

I hope this is helpful to someone as tech stupid with an Android as I am if not the phone number I called was 800 734 5870 & I have definitely added that number to my contacts. Thank you again.

Glad that you worked it out.

It is a real problem that when you 'press one for English' and still cannot understand what the other person is saying, lol.

Anyway, sorry that the app doesn't seem to work on your device.

Perhaps only the scheduler acts wonky?
I say this because the scheduler does not work on my 5.1.1 or my 7.1.1- but it does work on my 8.1.0

Although the scheduler does not work, the volume controls may work fine, as they do on all my devices.

This was the main point of the app for me, to allow a simple, one spot volume control for all the different volumes.

It is surprising that your device has a 'clear cache' function, as newer devices typcally do not.

As you have found, it can be quite helpful.

Use it whenever your device gets slow, or starts acting 'funny'.
