Cases for the Moment

Was digging the simple cheap snap on rubberized hard case for the Hero. Tough to beat for $8.

Found two from a company called Amzer. Not sure if they only include one side since neither shows both sides, or if they are both sides and the more expensive one includes the screen protector.

Looks good, but it looks like the rubberized back covers the external speaker.

I actually emailed them about that. Kinda screwed the pooch a bit since the have they only one so far. I'm opting to use mine in my Seidio Treo Pro holster that was made to work with the Pro in the innocase. Fits securely so it's good enough at the moment. No pun intended. It'll just go bare when I'm not using the holster.

Holy Crap. I'm using the same thing as my holster. It's practically a perfect fit, no side to side play, clip is just a mm from fully closed yet it's pretty darn secure.

But that is my main concern when using it, I usually have a case to at least protect the back of the phone since it will be exposed and possibly catching the full brunt of any impact. Seidio needs just needs to get crackin on a rubberized battery cover. I'm fine with just a screen protector.

I was surprised it fit well. Used it with my Hero and the rubberized hard case. That was even a better fit. I worred the top clip didn't come down far enough but I couldn't pull the phone out so I was satisfied. The only time I use it is when I'm wearing scrubs and at a shortage for pockets. If I'm carrying though it's nice to have those rubberized cases. Seidio does them well. The thinner the better.

they don't have a shortage on colors. I'd imagine we'll see things popping up on ebay within the next two to three weeks. Various hard and silicone cases, spare batteries with separate chargers. ProClip is working on holders (I'm crossing my fingers on one that works in the open position). Seidio will hopefully have their innocase.

I'm also hoping for some Seidio love as well, but unfortunately they haven't even started shipping out the MyTouch stuff yet and the MyTouch was released in what July? And with the Droid's release I'm sure that's what Seidio is concentrating on to get accessories out there asap.

hey, just as a word, i got a nice little holder from Kmart. it's for the "blackberry" but my moment fit PERFECT. great while i'm running around has magnetic clasp and swivels. i only paid $10 for it and it's genuine leather. i'm not really into putting something on the phone itself especially with the back speaker being as amazing as it is.

I bought a leather pouch from Fry's Electronics that is a PERFECT fit for the Samsung Moment, in case anyone is looking for one.

It's the Case Logic PDA Pouch, Horizontal magnetic Pouch for Apple iPhone, model # CLPIPH119B, and it fits it PERFECTLY. $16.99.

I also attached a lanyard to the phone so it's easier to take out of the pouch, and hang on to the phone so I don't drop it. :eek:

I wonder if other iphone cases will fit as well for the Moment.

I just bought a Case Logic "Universal Pouch, Executive Series" (CL504SPH) at Wal-Mart for $20.95. Perfect fit! It has a cutout on the bottom so I can just push the phone up and grab it by the top and bottom edge.

The only problems I foresee is if the case covers the speaker and makes it hard to hear the ringer, and I don't know yet if pressing on the case will cause the end/send buttons to get pushed like they did on my old Samsung i730.

A little modding should be able to take care of either of these problems.

So...does anyone have one of the snap on cases or rubber cases? What's your opinion? The jelly one sounds nice and it looks relatively thin

HAHA@ androidspcs. I have the same case but got it for 9 dollars at samsclub=) haha I got my moment on nov 1 and went to samsclub afterwards to find a cheaper alternative to sprints overpriced cases. I found the one you specified, it works wonderfully I was dumbfounded=) .

hate silicone. won't buy the snap on until the design is right. Since it covers the speaker, it's a waste of money.

"Official" Sprint Moment Cases should start arriving in stores this week. Most stores (crosses fingers) should have them by Friday. I have no idea who makes them. China probably. Sorry.

I bought an "official" snap-on case from a Sprint store and it's junk. Don't waste the $25 for 2. They make the phone more bulky and messes with the slider. I'm going to try the hybrid jelly case from Fommy.com.

I don't know if this was mentioned, but, It looks like that snap on hard case blocks the proximity sensor. Anyone know?
I agree, the fommy.com jelly case looks like the best bet. I wonder how much thicker it makes the phone feel. I bought mine from a "guy" on ebay, and I'm nervous about breaking it. Anyone have experience with insurance options and buying through ppl on ebay?

I use the universal horizontal belt case from my old Dell Axim. Bought off the street in mid town Manhattan for ~$5. Fits great and the price is all but unbeatable.
