Restart fixes Galaxy s4 charging problem

Hi all, On my T-mo GS4, Jelly bean 4.4.4, rooted, sometimes doesn't start charging when I plug it in. Happens with different chargers. However, if I restart it, it charges fine. Until the next time it doesn't. Then another restart, etc. Anyone else out there have a similar problem? Thanks, Jim

    Movie player that supports chapters?

Hi all, It has been several years since I looked about this. I have some mp4 movies with chapters. Is there a media player that will use them to allow me to skip forward or backward by chapter? I'm currently on a Galaxy S2, jelly bean.

ES File Explorer on Jellybean question

Hi all, I've just updated my T-Mobile Galaxy S2. I notice in ES File Explorer, my preferred file app, that the "external_sd" folder is empty. The stock My Files uses extSdCard folder to go the the external SD card. But I don't see that folder in the ES File Explorer. So, how do I get to the...

    Help USB connection drops randomly

Hi all, My GS2 connects fine to my PC via USB & mounts the drives fine. However at random intervals the data connection drops and I have to go back to the phone and "Turn on USB storage" again. It's a real pain when trying to copy a large set of files - figuring out which ones got to the...

Help Problem with car BT incoming calls

Hi all, I'm having a problem receiving incoming calls over my car (Chevy Cruze) bluetooth connection. I'm on 4.04 (I can never keep track of the name, numbers are easier for me to keep track of). Anyway, the connection worked fine with my old Vibrant. With my new SGS2 when I get a call & press...

    Storage terminology

Hi all, I was just reading a thread about a "USB storage problem". I'm wondering where this terminology came from since USB (Universal Serial Bus) doesn't really relate to storage. My guess is that it refers to the removable SD card storage. Correct?

    The coaching factor?

Hi all, Our Bama coach, Nick Saban, just extended his contract for 2 more years. He makes more in one year than I'll make in my life! (I have a M.S. in aerospace structural dynamics and have worked hard for 30 yr in my profession.) The question is: How much does the coach contribute to the...

    aldiko import process?

Does anyone know what the Aldiko import process really does? That is, does it just put a pointer in its database to the original .epub location on the SD card or does it actually copy the .epub file to its own directory structure? I'm thinking it makes a copy because in Calibre when I connect...

Root Fed up with this flashing nonsense.

So... I decided to give CyanogenMod one more try on my Vibrant. So ODIN back to factory setup, root, then flash CyanogenMod 7.x. Now I have no GPS and battery life is down the tubes. The 23 pages of instructions to fix the GPS take more turns than Formula 1. I'm still not sure about the battery...

Root Unable to root after KB5 update

Hi all, I've been restoring my phone after a disaster with ROM flashing. After doing the T-Mobile KB5 2.2 update from the factory reset I'm not able to root again. Something about a signature error. Please don't tell me to flash some other ROM - I only need to root so I can use Titanium...

Root Install official froyo while rooted?

Hi all, Now that I've gotten my Vibrant back to the factory OS, I'm currently restoring all my apps & data using Titanium Backup. Of course in order to do that I had to root the phone. Now, can I install the T-Mobile 2.2 upgrade using Mini Kies if the phone is rooted. Do I need to un-root...

    Bricked? Don't give up!

I recently thought I'd made a paper weight out of my Vibrant. However, this group has a wealth of knowledgeable folks. I was finally able last night to get it restored back to the factory setup. So, if you're in the same situation don't give up. Ask questions, describe exactly your problem and...

    Change Phandroid app password

Hi all, I changed my forum password recently and just today I started getting notices that someone was trying to login to my account 5 times with the wrong password and has been locked out for 15 min. It occurred to me that the phandroid app on my phone was doing the logging in. So I checked...

When do you charge your phone?

Hi all, I've seen some posts here and there about not overcharging your phone battery by leaving it on the charger too long - like overnight. I know it's bad to overcharge a battery. My assumption, though is that these modern phones have circuitry built in which is intended to prevent...

Root Rats! Formatted internal SD by mistake!

Shucks! I rooted my Vibrant a few days ago. Thought I'd make a Nandroid backup. Went into recovery mode - it looked like the stock one so I did the update packages. Didn't seem to change anything. I had pushed the vol - key a couple times and accidentally pushed the power button! Oh, what did I...

    Root ChocoEUKor et. al.

Hi all, What are the applications ChocoEUKor, CoolEUKor & RoseEUKor about? I'm wondering if I can remove them or freeze them using Titanium backup. Maybe I should just go ahead & freeze them & see what happens. Thanks very much,

Accessories Tv output from 3.5 mm port?

Has anyone tried the TV output from the 3.5 mm port? Many of the exercise machines at the Y have a TV external input jack. I found the docs on the devices and it appears to be a standard four wire a/v connection. I found a m-m cable for ~$13. including postage. Thanks,

Putting an old disk in a new PC

Hi all, My old PC (Win XP Home) bit the dust. I have the feeling the disk controller went - it would not even boot from my Norton Ghost recovery startup disk. So, I'd like to try adding the old system disk to the new PC (Win 7 Ultimate) - not to boot from, just to use. In the specs on the web...

Can we register a file type to an application?

Hi all, I use my file explorer a lot. It eliminates much of the "You have to put the files here" sort of requirement of many applications. And in many case - movie files for example - when you touch the file, it opens it in the appropriate application. There are exceptions like *.epub files...

How to recover Outlook Express contacts

Hi all, I have, for many years, done backups every night of my entire C: drive with Norton Ghost. I have restored the whole drive several times from them, too. Well, last week my PC (XP Home) died. So now on the new one (Win 7) I've recovered all that I've wanted to so far EXCEPT the dratted...

Vibrant data plan activation via Best Buy

Hi all, I've gotten my new Vibrant thru Best Buy - just received it yesterday. Would it take a few days to have the data plan made active? My T-Mobile account still shows none. I tried connecting to my GMail acct and got a "no data plan" message. Maybe I need to call TMo or Best Buy? Maybe I...

    Help Manual screen lock?

Hi all, Just got my new Vibrant delivered yesterday so now the questions start. 1. Is there a way to disable the automatic screen locking and allow me to just press the on/off switch to lock?
