Help Alarm problem

When I set my alarm overnight, I never used to have a problem. It would go off as planned. For some reason, now when I set it, I leave the phone on charge downstairs, on the alarm activates, flashes up on my screen as it should, but no sound comes out.all my volumes are on max. If I set it for say, 10th min from now , it all works fine.? Wierd
Has anyone had the same problem, if so, how do I cure it..I have NO task killer installed anymore, so its not that.... I really don't want to reset my phone and have everything deleted etc. Thanks

Strange, do all other sounds work as they should? Also, what's the Sound Profile set as?

do you have the actual alarm volume turned up to max?

even if the phone is on silent the alarm will still sound.
