    Hi,
I'm after some advice. I need to connect an android 5.x device to a TV using HDMI. It need to be full android OS as per a tablet. Ideally the device will have a standard resolution such as 1920 x 1080.

The reason being I have to install some software into android that turns it into kiosk mode and then allows me to run digital signage software. The software is site kiosk by provisio.

The TV will be a large format touch screen so in essence a giant tablet. I could plug in a tablet which would work but it seems a waste as I don't need the tablet screen.

Is there any hardware / devices I could use, off the shelf or something I could get and then install android on to. I was thinking of an rpi 3 but seems android doesn't work yet on the pi, well not android 5.x anyway

I also looked at android tv devices but I'm not sure these run a std android os and therefore the software I need to use may not install.

Any suggestion would be great fully received.

    Thanks....

You got something that's only running in kiosk mode? Where did you buy it? Because there are some devices from China that are solely intended to run in a kiosk or vending application.

The device i need has to run Android... as per a tablet or mobile... the software i am using is http://www.provisio.com/web/us/products/android-kiosk-software-sitekiosk

I am not really after an alternative solution as this works very well and if i need to i will just connect tablets to the TVs and work that way.
What i am looking for is an alternative hardware platform that i can install Android 5.x onto with HDMI output and no screen.
    Thanks...

That will depend on the specific box. Is it worth one box to find out?
