Okay so basically out of nowhere the pornhub apk was downloaded into my phone. I can see it in file manager however I have not installed the app unto my phone. The problem is number one: I DO NOT want this app. Number two: The app is opening NSFW ads in EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY APPS  Number three: I CAN NOT get rid of this app. I tried deleting this app from file manager and it just keeps on coming back. I checked to see if the app had any administrative permissions that were preventing me from deleting it but there were none. Is there any way I can fix this problem with out a factory reset? I have an LG V20

Yes but not on the day i got the virus
Uninstall apps installed from a third party one at a time until it stops. I'm 99% sure you have a bad app. It's also a good reason to avoid apps from sources other than Play, Amazon, etc. as they often come with a malware embedded.

short of doing a factory reset, or the nuke from orbit approach.

YOu could delete all apps from your phone that have presented these ads - and any other suspect apps you have. Then - upon boot, boot to recovery mode and do a wipe cache (I believe that's still an option) and then reboot the phone.

That might wipe it to empty.

Otherwise - if it was mine - I'd pull the memory card - put it in a computer get what I could off and scan it all - format the card - factory reset the mobile - reinsert card - and start over.

Do I have to take the sd card out before the factory reset.
