I successfully followed these instructions to unlock and permanently root my Rezound:
xda-developers - View Single Post - [GUIDE] Super-noob guide to unlocking, rooting, and flashing Ziggys kernel
I installed ROM Manager and Titanium Backup premium and did a full backup. I then moved onto trying to install this ROM:
[ROM] BAMF Rezound 1.02 - RootzWiki
I completed steps 1-4:
HBOOT
Parsing...[SD ZIP]
[1] BOOT
Do you want to start update?
If I select yes, it gets to the point where it says "Update Comlete..." and I press power to reboot and nothing has changed. If I elect not to update, same result.
I then found that if I remove the SIM card, I can get it to show the normal menu when booting to recovery mode. Not sure what I can do there since I can't access the SIM card files. SIM card or not, the phone is no longer recognized by my computer, so I can't attempt to re-flash any files. I think that's all the relevant data, but please let me know if I've missed anything.
Any and all advice would be GREATLY appreciated. I can't believe I managed to brick this thing within 12 hours of receiving it...sigh.
......
Humbly,
Peter
