Hey guys Iv'e done alot of searching for the answer to my question with no luck. So I finally rooted and downloaded ROMmanager and installed bugless beast. I saw that there is a new WirelessTether app in my drawer. When I turn it on, it shows up as wifi on my ipod touch. Is this the same thing as a wifi hotspot? Thanks!

    Pretty much....

It will share your 3G over wireless. Don't think you can call it a hotspot, as it is single device only, IIRC... (I may be wrong about that, but my understanding was that it is not a hotspot, just single device).

When I turned it on. I was able to connect my ipod and my buddies ipod at the same time to it. And my ipod only connects to wifi. So it can't be 3g can it. It's very weird.

You are sharing your phone's 3g connection over wifi. Your ipod touch is connected to wifi, but the source of the internet is your phone's 3g connection.
