Honestly tho. I don't mean to make this post sound like an advertisement or something but I am so incredibly happy with the way Samsung is going right now.

The galaxy S6 was pretty rough, quite literally. Then the S7 was quite good, and the Note 7, while obviously that didn't go over it was still an incredible phone back then. But then the S8 came out and man, ever since Samsung has done nothing but improve and perfect.

    - They have had THE best hardware for every year since the S8, at least in my opinion

    - They seem to listen to their consumers, having kept the headphone jack and sd-card to this day, among other things...

    - ...like having greatly improved their software. One UI is better than stock in a lot of ways and lag is rarely an issue anymore

    - They are still one of thge leaders in terms of innovation with tons of crazy features and now folding phones soon! How many things has Samsung had 'first' so far??

    - They have a lot of options, with the Note series and their budget phones all having improved a lot too!

Honestly tho. I have a Note 9 now and am incredibly happy with it. I'm really glad Samsung seems to continue pushing their competitors forward. Even if you don't like Samsung you have to appreciate what they have pushed others to do. Sure their phones can be a bit expensive but for me that's really not a big deal because of the very generous price drops after a few months.

I really don't want to sound like a shill but thank you Samsung! I hope you keep doing what you're doing.

While I respect the quality Samsung puts into their phones and the innovation -- especially in their screens, I can't say I'm a big fan of them.

If you don't live in North America you get their own Exynos processors, which have been inferior to the Qualcomm ones for the last 3-4 generations. So from a European perspective I'd disagree with the statement - you pay a lot for a phone whose key component is behind the curve.

Quite frankly I don't think Samsung are really innovating much at all now. The S10, pretty much all its supposed new features I've already seen in things like Honor/Huawei, Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi phones. Samsung just doesn't excite me now, as they once did

Well... Personally I'm not a Samsung Fan... and when i'm shopping for a new phone... they're normally in the mix. but never quite make it to the top...

    BUT
My wife loves them. And they are a solid low, low risk, reliable, feature packed range of phones that are a good option for anyone.

I'm in an odd sector of the market.. I liked Psion, HD DVD, Palm, Windows Mobile, Sega, Wileyfox, Pebble

So.... anyone targeting me as a customer is going to have a tough time.

Samsung however seem to make devices that my wife likes... and that is a much better market to be in.

So, without a doubt, I agree.. Samsung ARE killing it
