class 2 vs. class g sd memory

From what I understand the read rate on class 2, 4, and 6 are relatively the same. If I mainly plan on using my sd card for music and video storage on my droid x will I notice a difference since my phone would only be reading the data on the card?

You wont notice any difference in performance on the phone. The only time you will notice the difference is when transferring files to and from the phone via usb.

Do take into consideration the frequency at which you will be moving files. It truly can be a headache if you are transfering movies and the like back and forth frequently. In many cases, it is just another few bucks to get the faster card. Unless you are getting a super bargain on a slower card I do recommend getting the faster ones. I think there was a class 6 32gb card listed on the forums here for $65 shipped. Sweet deal IMO.

It also may affect the performance of your FPS shooting video, particularly 720p video which usually requires around 5+ mbps write speeds.
