Help Contact not Found in Favorites - can't delete

I have an HTC M7 running Android 5.02. I have an empty contact in my Favorites folder that I simply cannot delete. I click on "Edit Favorites" and click on the icon to delete - but it won;t disappear.

I can only presume this is a bug in the software - because there is no actual contact record in contacts to delete it doesn't delete the favorite - but this still leaves a contact "Icon" in the favorites folder with no content - any advice or help from anyone would be greatly appreciated
