Controlling Googlemail

I've got a googlemail account set up to relay mail from my 'real' accounts onto my new Hero. What I can't figure out is if and how you can (a) control how often the Hero polls googlemail to check for new emails; and (b) how often googlemail polls the 'real' accounts to check for new emails. Anyone know if either of these can be controlled by user? Thanks.

a) If you've used the Gmail setup on the phone it's being pushed to the phone as new mail arrives, so there isn't a poll interval.

b) I'm not sure of the exact interval time but from my experience it's taken up to an hour. I ended up forwarding my Hotmail to my Gmail instead. That way it's almost instantly on my phone.

Thanks for the speedy reply. Looks like I need to look into doing 'Forward' rather than 'Collect'.

Was getting gmail to fetch my ymail. Now I just have my ymail forwarded.

Easy and instant. Blackberry? What?

k-9 Mail now has experimental push mail, so it comes a lot more often.

I started to phase out my hotmail account when i got my hero, i dont use it, but get it forwarded to my gmail, and automatically give it a label "hotmail", and archive it. That way it doesn't clog up my inbox, and i can have a separate icon on my desktop for the "hotmail" label. Its basically like having another hotmail account.
