Root Departing is never easy..

Hello Community,

I haven't been as active over the weeks because my Prevail has ascended into android afterlife. I was thinking about buying another prevail and I got to thinking that I have made my mark in this forum. I am and will continue to stop by and help others with questions or concerns.

I can now be found in the Kyocera Hydro Community.

I will not be updating themes made for the Prevail, to no offense to anyone, but I do not have the Prevail and well, themeing kinda requires you to have the phone in hand..Majority of the time.

To this community, I owe just about everything I know about android and then some. This community is one of the far more developed communities of the site..

I really enjoyed your work, I'm sorry to see you go. But I know you will be an asset to what ever community you are a part of.
 
man gonna be missed!!!!! keep in touch from time to time. also let us know about that phone. i posted on it a while back and am into water everything and really like the idea of the phone. thx again for everything!!!

I know right, the community is just about dead.. The phone came out Aug. 3rd.. and there is like 10 post in the whole place, lol. I mean it's waterproof! and only $130!

Yes, its definitely appealing, especially for the price. I've been itching to get a new phone, since my Prevail has been gone, I weighed a lot of options.. It came down to this or the Motorola Xprt. (Solely based on the modding community)

I wanted to go somewhere it was needed. :D
 
I'm very curious about heat with this phone. Let me know how it goes and stop back often... You know where to find me ;)

now that I've done some lurking, I kind of see that. Kyocera has this thing locked down tight.

Shabby, Could you explain or expand on the reasons for the Hydro not having root for awhile?

lol let me start off by saying hroark already returned his hydro ;P

its sig checking kernel and recovery at boot aka until you bypass it you arent getting a custom kernel or recovery. no fastboot, no root, nada :(

until the next big android exploit comes out (think rageagainstthecage, or gingerbreak, or even zergrush...) there is not going to be much in the root department.

in all honesty you might wanna post this info over on the subforums for them so any potential buyers are forewarned ;)

I certainly will, I was stoked to see hroark with a Hydro! Hopefully, something may come along a little sooner than what we expect. But nonetheless, thank you for the information. I will pass this along..
