Help double SMS notificaton issue

i have been this issue where im only texting one person and the phone will say that i have two texts message but when i open to check it there only one texts message

like on look in the phone before unlocking and it say i have two texts message but when i open the texts up its only one texts from that person
why dose it do that
double notification

this is on the mytouch 4g
is there anyway i can fixes this

Is that person a fav? If so turn off your fav indicator.

no im not using the fav its just the texts default texting that came on the phone

If this is stock Then I have no clue. I'm stumped....

Are you using Handcent or Chomp? If so, go into settings and disable auto retrieve on the stock messaging.
