Facebook app refresh question

I have a Galaxy Nexus. When I am using the Facebook app and click to view a link on my wall, or switch to a different app , and then go back to Facebook it refreshes and starts from the newest stories. This is very frustrating if I have skimmed through half a day's worth of stuff on my news feed and then have to go through all of that again to go back to where I left off, just because I clicked on a link. This does not happen on my Nexus 7 tablet- I can click on something and then go back into the Facebook app from where I left off. Please help!
