first battery charge

Ok so I just got my new Samsung Galaxy S4 and love it so far ($139 at Fry's this week).
I was wondering about the first battery charge. It comes out of the box with about a half a charge. Should I let it run down to zero or charge it right away?

I read while ago that, letting the battery drop to zero harm the cells

Letting it drop down to the true 0 will harm the batteries.

However, manufacturers have the device shut off before damage can be caused

So no need to worry

Most manufacturers recommend you charge it to full right away.
I tend to agree with that.
