    A casual observation...

This Rezound forum seems to have mostly general questions. While a quick glance at the Nexus Galaxy forum seems to show more threads dealing with problems or concerns in their title. Hmmm......I'm just sayin'

I, too, have marveled at the amount of troubled threads in the GN forums. But one has to keep in mind the amount of GN users slamming that forum compared to our Rezound traffic. I'm not sure it's a fair barometer. Don't get me wrong, I'm very pleased I purchased the Rz. :)

haha... I had noticed this. Its really surprising how few posts there are here, and a large percentage are just people asking how to do something or saying how much they like their phone.

I... I... want to type more... but I'll restrain myself. :p

That's what I wanted to say, but still..... only so much can be rationalized away.

I don't think it would be fair to compare the two in such a manner. The Rezound forum has a fraction of posts (7%) when compared the GN. Also keep in mind, that the Rezound is only on one U.S. carrier; where as the GN is currently on one U.S. carrier (and will be on at least two others), all of Europe, and likely the rest of the world. So there are currently way, way more GN being sold and currently in the hands of consumers than the Rezound.

I do wish our phone was more popular. Perhaps we will gain users as the masses realize just how great the Rezound really is. The only thing the other two recent releases have on our phone is following and fanfare. I chalk that up to marketing.

Yea, I would also think more people tinker with the Nexus than the Rezound.

The marketing is horrible. HTC paid a bunch of money for beats so apparently this phone is only suitable for young males who like hip hop.

In reality, if I didn't know anything about phones, from the marketing alone I wouldn't purchase a Rezound.

I was one of those people watching and reading the threads on the Nexus Galaxy, and the Rezound ordered it from Amazon when they had it on sale for 1 cent:). Totally love my phone, Went and checked out a Nexus at the local Verizon store , I made the right choice Thank You Android Forums...

I wasn't referring to the number of total posts, I was referring to the ratio of problems and issues being higher for the galaxy than the rezound.

I'm sure the larger number of post have something to do with it, but you have to admit the sheer volume of issue-related posts is pretty high for any phone. The biggest concern is that they are so varied. True, the main complaint seems to be signal strength. But I've seem multiple posts concerning screen issues, battery life, lag, texts going to wrong recipients, music disappearing from internal memory, bootlooping when connecting to wifi, high heat issues, email not syncing, contact picture issues, clicking noise...

And those are just the off the top of my head. While the majority of these complaints seem fixable with software updates, the simple reality is, no phone should be released with THIS many bugs in it. Period. This is why a lot of the complaints seem to be from people who bought the phone as just an upgrade and not necessarily from those that eagerly waited for the phone's launch.

If you really wanted the phone badly, you'll be more willing to put up with some issues than someone who simply wanted to upgrade to a better device. Otherwise, how could anyone justify posts that say things like "I love the phone so much, I'm willing to put up with just having 3G until 4G gets fixed." Wait, what? What objective consumer in his right mind would be willing to buy a phone that promises 4G but doesn't deliver after purchase?

Most consumers would be far better off with the rezound. It might not be as fast or have the latest software, but like the iPhone, it just works. Emails sync, screen looks good, texts go to the right people, and the 4G signal is strong and consistent.

hmmm not to mention one phone is running a Year old OS and the other is running an OS that is only 2 months old and until last week had not even been in US users hands.

That's my point exactly. The latest and the greatest may not be appropriate for most consumers. That certainly seems to be the case here.

First of all, I'd just like to said I've had my nexus from day one and its been the smoothest fastest phone I've ever used. I haven't had any of the problems you've mentioned btw.

I never said everyone is experiencing these problems. Obviously if you go to the GNex boards there are many that say the same thing you do. However, there's no question that many people are experiencing issues. Maybe they downloaded an app that's not playing nice, maybe they are in a poor signal area that's magnified by the subpar radio in the GNex, maybe the video they used to judge the screen quality was coded poorly, or maybe they just got a bum phone.

My point is, there seems to be an unusually high amount of people with issues. It's great that you're not one of them.

Of course I wouldn't expect someone that's reserved the name GalaxyNexus to give me a straight answer when critiquing the phone by the same namesake. :p It would be like asking someone with a username of ILoveMyChevy or MyStangEatsYourCamaro to give an unbiased opinion of the Camaro or Mustang..... ;)

With the launch of any phone - including the Nexus, including the Rezound - if you were a newcomer to the forums and just looking at the thread titles you'd think all of these phones were unusually buggy.

So - while this seemed to start in the OP with the idea of helping others with purchase decisions, I think this thread is going off in directions of existing threads elsewhere and has outlived itself.

If anyone disagrees, please PM me, my door's always open.
