Hi Guys!

My battery was draining very fast when in standby after I updated. If this happens to you, discharge the hell out of it, recharge to 100%, turn the phone off, hold the volume up, home button and power button together until you get into service mode, hit reset to factory (will WIPE PHONE) and then hit clear cache. Afterwards, hit reboot now. Viola! problem sorted.

For some reason, a factory reset and cache clear chosen from the OS while the phone was on made no difference. Go figure...

It's a widespread problem with the Android update if you sync email to an Exchange server:

I resolved it by removing the Exchange server from the stock mail app, and by using Nitrodesk's excellent Touchdown app for mail instead. Touchdown isn't free but it's very good. And now my battery performance is back where to it was prior to the Gingerbread update.

Thanks, Google, for carefully testing this update before releasing it on the unsuspecting public (NOT). You caused a lot of grief for a lot of people.

FAIL!
